Biblical Karma?

His trouble comes back on his head, and his violence comes down on his skull. I will thank Yahweh according to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of Yahweh, the Most High.

Psalms 7:16-17

Talking about concepts such as Karma was taboo in Christian circles at one time. The concept of Karma is a Hindu or Indian philosophy where a person’s actions, good or bad, will have a reciprocal effect, most likely in another life. Now that New Age philosophy has taken over the Christian churches, with its crystals and spirituality, this may not raise too many eyebrows amongst average church attendees as in the past.

The enemies of Yahweh’s people are going to fall into the very trap they have set. A person’s actions will return on to their own head, whether good or bad. These are all Biblical concepts, and sound much like “Karma”. There is no reincarnation or a pantheon of gods with Biblical Karma, just one supreme God who executes His justice.

Psa 7:8 Yahweh judges the nations. O Yahweh, vindicate me according to my innocence and according to my integrity within me.
Psa 7:9 Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous, and test the hearts and innermost being, O righteous God.
Psa 7:10 My shield is with God who saves the upright of heart.
Psa 7:11 God is a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation every day.
Psa 7:12 If he does not repent, he will sharpen his sword. He has bent his bow and he has strung it.
Psa 7:13 And he has prepared for him weapons of death. He has made his arrows fiery shafts.
Psa 7:14 See, he travails with evil. He is pregnant with trouble, and he gives birth to deception.
Psa 7:15 He makes a pit and digs it out, then falls in the trap he has made.
Psa 7:16 His trouble comes back on his head, and his violence comes down on his skull.

Psa 7:17 I will thank Yahweh according to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of Yahweh, the Most High.

Jesus, or in Hebrew, Yeshua, made this concept clear in His sermon on the mount. It is the meek, poor in spirit individual that will inherit the Earth, not the proud and arrogant.

Mat 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Mat 5:5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Mat 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Mat 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Mat 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Mat 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Mat 5:10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
Mat 5:12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Yahweh is a just God. It is the “merciful that will receive mercy”. what about the wicked?

Eze 7:1 And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
Eze 7:2 “And you, son of man, thus says the Lord Yahweh to the land of Israel: ‘The end comes, the end on the four corners of the land.
Eze 7:3 Now the end is on you, and I will send my anger on you, and I will judge you according to your ways, and I will bring on you all your detestable things.
Eze 7:4 And my eye will not take pity on you, and I will not show compassion for your ways; on you I will bring your detestable things; they will be in the midst of you, and you will know that I am Yahweh.’
Eze 7:5 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: ‘Look! Disaster after disaster is coming!
Eze 7:6 The end comes, comes the end! It has awakened against you! Look! It comes!
Eze 7:7 Doom is coming against you, the dweller of the land; the time comes, the day is near, panic and not joy is on the mountains.
Eze 7:8 Soon I will pour out my rage on you, and I will fully vent my anger on you, and I will judge you according to your ways, and I will bring on you all of your detestable things.
Eze 7:9 And my eye will not take pity, and I will not show compassion. According to your ways I will deal with you, and your detestable things will be in the midst of you, and you will know that I am Yahweh who strikes.

Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, is going to judge the people of the Earth according to their ways. This sounds a lot like the definition of Karma. The difference is that Yahweh is the one who makes the rules determining what righteousness and mercy actually looks like, as opposed to some distorted, manmade view.

Joh 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Joh 14:7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Joh 14:8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
Joh 14:9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Joh 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
Joh 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

The Messiah tells us He is the “the way, and the truth, and the life”, and no one comes to the Father any other way. What does this mean? Yeshua is the living Word of Yah the Father. The Father’s words manifested themself in human flesh.

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Joh 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
Joh 1:7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him.
Joh 1:8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.
Joh 1:9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.
Joh 1:11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.
Joh 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
Joh 1:13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

“The word became flesh and dwelt among us”. This concept is not taught and causes a huge misunderstanding as a result. It is not taught because if the reality that Messiah is the embodiment of the Torah, prophets and writings, ie God’s Word, was brought to light, Christians who adhere to a lawless gospel would have a fit, likely skipping their weekly offering they pay to hear “smooth things”.

Isa 30:8 Now go, write it on a tablet with them, and inscribe it on a scroll, that it may be for the time to come, forever, forever.
Isa 30:9 For it is a people of rebellion, deceitful children, children who are not willing to hear the instruction of Yahweh,
Isa 30:10 who say to those who do see, “You must not see!” and to the seers, “You must not see truth for us; speak smooth things to us, see illusions,
Isa 30:11 turn aside from the way, turn aside from the path, put an end to the holy one of Israel from our face.”
Isa 30:12 Therefore the holy one of Israel says this: “Because you are rejecting this word and you trust in oppression and cunning and you rely on it,
Isa 30:13 therefore this iniquity shall come for you like a breach about to fall, bulging out on a high wall that breaks suddenly, in an instant.
Isa 30:14 And he breaks it like a vessel of a potter breaks, that is crushed; he has no compassion, and no potsherd is found among its fragments to take fire from the hearth, or to skim water from the cistern.”
Isa 30:15 For the Lord Yahweh, the holy one of Israel, said this: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; your strength shall be in quietness and in trust.” But you were not willing,

We are being told by Isaiah that these words were to be written for a time to come, “forever, forever”. Would our present day not fit that description? People do not want to hear the righteous path or “the way”. “The way” showed up in person, and the church tries to make a different way. They say Jesus is the way, but they don’t explain what “the way” is. They make up a new, dispensational way that severs “the way” that Jesus personified.

Joh 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

If Jesus is the way and the truth, and no one comes to the Father any other way, would it not also mean that the way and truth are the only way as well? So if you seek the way and the truth, then you are seeking Jesus because he is the way and the truth. What is truth then?

Psa 119:153 Resh Look on my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget your law.
Psa 119:154 Plead my cause and redeem me; give me life according to your promise!
Psa 119:155 Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes.
Psa 119:156 Great is your mercy, O LORD; give me life according to your rules.
Psa 119:157 Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, but I do not swerve from your testimonies.
Psa 119:158 I look at the faithless with disgust, because they do not keep your commands.
Psa 119:159 Consider how I love your precepts! Give me life according to your steadfast love.
Psa 119:160 The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.

The name of Jesus, Yeshua, actually means the salvation of Yah. So, Yeshua is far from the wicked. The sum of the Father’s word is truth. It is the Father’s words that are truth, and this is the same thing Jesus says He has personified.

When Jesus said he is the way, the truth and the life, it means He exemplified the life we are to live if we are going to walk in the “way” and “truth” which are already defined in scripture. Jesus did not make a new religion “unhitched” from the way and truth defined in scripture as much as people would like to be.

Joh 10:1 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.

Joh 10:7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
Joh 10:8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.
Joh 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
Joh 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Joh 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
Joh 10:12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.
Joh 10:13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
Joh 10:14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,
Joh 10:15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
Joh 10:16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

He is talking to the sheep of Judah and referring to the lost sheep of the House of Israel being in a different fold. There will be one shepherd for the united House of Jacob. Remember when Jesus said, “if you have seen me you have seen the Father”? The Word of God speaking through Ezekiel said the same thing as Jesus. This shouldn’t be a surprise though.

Eze 34:14 I will feed them in good pasture, and their pasture will be on the mountains of the heights of Israel; there they will lie down in good pasture, and on lush pasture they will feed on the mountains of Israel.
Eze 34:15 I myself will feed my flock and I myself will allow them to lie down,” declares the Lord Yahweh.
Eze 34:16 “I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the scattered, and I will bind up the one hurt, and I will strengthen the sick; and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed her with justice.”

Many don’t realize that Jesus is the Word of Yahweh and the salvation of Yahweh. They cannot be separated in dispensational economies. Jesus also told us he will repay us with the works of our hands.

Rev 2:20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
Rev 2:21 I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.
Rev 2:22 Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works,
Rev 2:23 and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.

Unlike Buddhism and Hinduism’s version of Karma, we know the force behind “trouble coming back on our head” is a law of the universe that Yah has established. It is just scales and balances, not a mystical force created by our own actions.

The Jesus, or Yeshua, of the New Testament, is the Word of Yah from the Old Testament. If your version of Jesus is different than Yahweh, then you are serving a different, false god in a new religion.

Demons Confess: “Jesus is Lord”

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Romans 10:9-10

As Christians, we are told that all we have to do is “confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead”, and we will be saved. It says it right there, in the opening quote, written by Paul to the Romans.

Rom 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Why do we need to know any more than that one verse? I actually was told by a Baptist deacon that we don’t. We really do not have to study scripture or learn how we should live because we just need to confess Jesus is Lord to be saved. With this mentality we could reduce all of scripture to one index card. Is this true? Think of the trees that would be saved! What is the meaning of this word “confess” that is the supposed key to salvation?

From Webster’s online dictionary:

con·fess | \ kən-ˈfes \
confessed; confessing; confesses
Definition of confess
transitive verb
1 : to tell or make known (something, such as something wrong or damaging to oneself) : ADMIT
he confessed his guilt

The understanding is that we are making it known, or admitting that Jesus is Lord. Sounds like an easy way to be “saved”. “Jesus is Lord, whatever, let’s get on with life. I am saved now. Woohoo.” However, Paul didn’t write the word “confess”. Confess is the word English translators chose for a Greek word in a Greek manuscript of the letter Paul wrote. The Greek word is Strong’s G3670. First the Strong’s definition, then the Thayer definition.

G3670
ὁμολογέω
homologeō
hom-ol-og-eh’-o
From a compound of the base of G3674 and G3056; to assent, that is, covenant, acknowledge: – con- (pro-) fess, confession is made, give thanks, promise.

ὁμολογέω
homologeō
Thayer Definition:
1) to say the same thing as another, i.e. to agree with, assent
2) to concede
2a) not to refuse, to promise
2b) not to deny
2b1) to confess
2b2) declare
2b3) to confess, i.e. to admit or declare one’s self guilty of what one is accused of
3) to profess
3a) to declare openly, speak out freely
3b) to profess one’s self the worshipper of one
4) to praise, celebrate

The Blue Letter Bible website has a little more on the word.

STRONGS NT 3670: ὁμολογέω
ὁμολογέω, ὁμολογῶ; imperfect ὡμολόγουν; future ὁμολογήσω; 1 aorist ὡμολόγησα; present passive 3 person singular ὁμολογεῖται; (from ὁμόλογος, and this from ὁμον and λέγω); from (Sophocles and) Herodotus down;

  1. properly, to say the same thing as another, i. e. to agree with, assent, both absolutely and with a dative of the person; often so in Greek writings from Herodotus down; hence,
  2. universally, to concede;

Sometimes Bible Lexicon’s, such as Strong’s and Thayer’s, inject their theological spin on the words they are translating, just as the Bible translators do. It is good practice to understand how words were used outside of 19th century theology, because the first century writers did not know 19th century theology, so they were using the word as it was used in their culture.

I recently acquired the New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology and came back to this blog post because their definition of the word used for “confess” validates my understanding of this Greek word “homologeo”. It is to confess sins and enter into a treaty or covenant with a deity. We confess our sins to Yeshua, agree with what He says, promise to uphold our end of the covenant and it is sealed with the bread and wine of communion and the waters of baptism.

Confess:

ὁμολογέω G3933 (homologeō), promise, confess, declare, praise; ἐξομολογέω G2018 (exomologeō), promise, confess, praise; ὁμολογία G3934 (homologia), confession.

CL homologeō (Soph. onwards) and homologia (Hdt. onwards) are compounds of homos, the same, similar, and legō, say, or logos, word, speech. Hence homologeō means to say the same, i.e. agree in one’s statements, and homologia means agreement, consent.
The legal connotation is dominant. A man agrees with another’s statement, concedes or confesses something (e.g. his guilt before a judge), agrees to something (e.g. another’s wish) and so promises. This agreement expresses itself in an act of commitment, promise, or confession in a court or legal contract.
The religious use of the words is probably derived primarily from their use in the language of treaties and the law-courts. The man who binds himself by an oath (homologeō) enters into a treaty relationship with the deity. This concept was then transferred from the solemn confession of wrong-doing before a court of law to the confession of sin to the deity. These concepts were used especially in the oriental cults, as may be seen from Lydian and Phrygian expiatory inscriptions. In modern Gk. the concept has come to mean sacramental confession to a priest: exomologeomai, I make my confession; exomologeō, I hear a confession.

D. Fürst, “Confess,” ed. Lothar Coenen, Erich Beyreuther, and Hans Bietenhard, New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing House, 1986), 344.

It is not to say “confess” is a bad translation if viewed in light of all of scripture; however, standing on its own, “confess” gives modern readers an inaccurate view of the verse.

Rom 10:9 because, if you confess [believe the same as, covenant] with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

One could make the argument that this verse shouldn’t even be translated “confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord”. The Greek says Kurios Iesous, which is Master or Lord Yeshua or “Jesus” . The Modern King Jame’s Version, MKJV, seems to make this correction.

Rom 10:9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.

This is starting to line up with the rest of scripture now that we have some deeper meanings and arrangement of words by different, professional translators.

Rom 10:9 Because if you confess [covenant, say the same thing as, agree with] the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.

I am hoping that everyone can see the difference between being in covenant with Jesus and agreeing with everything He said, verses simply confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. James knew there was a difference between just knowing information and doing something about it.

Jas 2:19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!

Demons know God is one just as they know who Jesus is. They actually confessed that “Jesus is Lord” .

Luk 4:33 And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
Luk 4:34 “Ha! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.”
Luk 4:35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.

The demon here confessed Jesus is the Holy one of God. Does that mean this demon will be saved now? Do you even know where a demon comes from, or what it is? Of course, a demon cannot be saved.

2Pe 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2Pe 2:2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed.
2Pe 2:3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
2Pe 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment;

These demons are the offspring spirits of angels and mortal beings. Their flesh was destroyed in Noah’s flood, but a percentage of them were allowed to exist on Earth. This is why they asked Jesus not to send them to the abyss.

Luk 8:27 When Jesus had stepped out on land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he had not lived in a house but among the tombs.
Luk 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and said with a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.”
Luk 8:29 For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many a time it had seized him. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.)
Luk 8:30 Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered him.
Luk 8:31 And they begged him not to command them to depart into the abyss.

The books of Jubilees and Enoch explain the where, why and how of demons. The first century believers were well aware of the demonic realm around them because they read these books. Does anyone find it strange, that seemingly out of nowhere, Jesus is dealing with all these demons and unclean spirits with little explanation? They are unclean because they are offspring of an illegal union between angels and mortal beings. Nothing is explained about them because the writers assume the audience has the same common knowledge about them as they do from the writings they had access to.

AND in the third week of this jubilee the unclean devils began to lead astray the children of the sons of Noach, and to make to err and destroy them. And the sons of Noach came to Noach their father, and they told him concerning the devils which were leading astray and blinding and slaying his sons’ sons. And he prayed before Yahuah Elohayu, and said: Elohiym of the ruachoth [spirits] of all flesh, who has shown mercy unto me and has saved me and my sons from the waters of the flood, and has not caused me to perish as you did the sons of perdition; For your grace has been great towards me, and great has been your mercy to my soul; Let your grace be lift up upon my sons, and let not wicked ruachoth rule over them lest they should destroy them from the earth. But do you bless me and my sons, that we may increase and multiply and replenish the earth. And you know how your Watchers, the fathers of these ruachoth, acted in my day: and as for these ruachoth which are living, imprison them and hold them fast in the place of condemnation, and let them not bring destruction on the sons of your servant, my Elohiym; for these are malignant, and created in order to destroy. And let them not rule over the ruachoth of the living; for you alone can exercise dominion over them. And let them not have power over the sons of the righteous from henceforth and forevermore. YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 10:1-6 את CEPHER

As we continue reading in the book of Jubilees we see Yahweh allowed a tenth of them to stay on the Earth.

And Yahuah Elohaynu bade us to bind all. And the chief of the ruachoth [spirits], Mastema, came and said: Yahuah, Creator, let some of them remain before me, and let them hearken to my voice, and do all that I shall say unto them; for if some of them are not left to me, I shall not be able to execute the power of my will on the sons of men; for these are for corruption and leading astray before my judgment, for great is the wickedness of the sons of men. And he said: Let the tenth part of them remain before him, and let nine parts descend into the place of condemnation. And one of us he commanded that we should teach Noach all their medicines; for he knew that they would not walk in uprightness, nor strive in righteousness. And we did according to all his words: all the malignant evil ones we bound in the place of condemnation and a tenth part of them we left that they might be subject before Satan on the earth. And we explained to Noach all the medicines of their diseases, together with their seductions, how he might heal them with herbs of the earth. YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 10:7-12 את CEPHER

Does reading this make the stories of demons and unclean spirits spoken about in scripture much easier to understand? Why are we discouraged from reading the book of Jubilees found in the caves of Qumran alongside the oldest copies of Genesis and Enoch that we have?

Yahweh left a tenth of these spirits to see who will not be lead astray. They tempt and torment, but those who confess [agree with, covenant with] Lord Jesus [Master Yeshua] will not be drawn into the subversion of these devils. The demons confess Jesus is Lord, who can put them in the abyss, but we covenant and agree with Jesus. There is a huge difference.

Deu 13:1 “If a prophet stands up in your midst or a dreamer of dreams and he gives to you a sign or wonder,
Deu 13:2 and the sign or the wonder comes about that he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods (those whom you have not known), and let us serve them,’
Deu 13:3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or to that dreamer, for Yahweh your God is testing you to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all of your heart and with all of your inner self.
Deu 13:4 You shall go after Yahweh your God, and him you shall revere, and his commandment you shall keep, and to his voice you shall listen, and him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast.

The demons are there just as the false prophets. They test us, for the Creator, Yahweh, to see if we will listen to them instead of Yahweh. They lead us astray from Yahweh’s instruction such as Sabbaths, idolatry, sexual immorality and unclean animals, causing us to become ill with sin and disease. They lead us into celebrating false holidays honouring false gods. “Yahweh your God is testing you to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all of your heart and with all of your inner self.”

Agreeing or being in covenant with Lord Jesus, Master Yeshua, the proper translation of Romans 10:9, is to do what Deuteronomy 13:4 tells us to do.

Deu 13:4 You shall go after Yahweh your God, and him you shall revere, and his commandment you shall keep, and to his voice you shall listen, and him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast.

Jesus told us the following is the greatest commandment.

Mar 12:29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Mar 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

To confess Jesus and believe God raised him from the dead is to follow the same commandments Jesus followed, which were given in the law, prophets and writings. Please stop listening to the false prophets and demons, study your Bibles for yourselves and learn these matters.

The Name Of the Lord is a Strong Tower

O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

John 17:25-26

Many of us were raised singing the song Blessed be the Name of the Lord in church.

The point here is not to pick apart this song. It is simply to point out a lack of Christian education, following years of traditions and not even realizing what is taking place.

The song quotes Proverbs 18:10, stating that the name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous man runs into it and is safe.

Pro 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

Anyone who reads my blogs consistently will automatically see some problems. We sing these words with the chorus “blessed be the name, blessed be the name”, without ever knowing what the name is. There are two systems of substituting the name of the Creator in this song. Christianity substitutes the name of the Creator God with “Lord”, and Judaism substitutes the same name with השם, (h’Shem), which means “the name”. Nowhere in this song has anyone revealed the actual name that is a strong tower where the righteous can run into and be safe. Why do most people sing this song over and over, never really knowing the source of the strong tower? Here is a translation the shows the name as it appears in Hebrew:

Pro 18:10 The Name of יהוה is a strong tower; The righteous run into it and are safe.

This version is great if a person knows the Creator’s name in Hebrew, but the average Christian doesn’t even know they are missing an actual name, so how can they be expected to know the name in Hebrew? Josephus, a Jewish historian, tells us the Creator’s name is pronounced as four vowel sounds. The best representation we have in English is Yahuah or Yahweh, possibly pronounced “ee ah oo wa”. The state of Iowa is suspiciously close to this. Hawaii spelled backwards is also close. “Iiawah” Considering Hebrew is right to left, the connections can be made. The point is we truly do not know the absolute correct pronunciation when Yahweh spoke the name to Moses, but we know it definitely was not pronounced “L-o-r-d”, and the strong tower is in the name Yahweh. Using these substitutions are like calling the Creator “old what’s his name”, and it is a terrible thing that we have forgotten the name.

Jer 23:26 How long will this be in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceitfulness of their hearts,
Jer 23:27 who plan to make my people forget my name by their dreams that they tell each one to his neighbor, just as their ancestors forgot my name through Baal?

Hos 2:16 And on that day—a declaration of Yahweh—you will call me, “My husband;” you will no longer call me, “My Baal.”
Hos 2:17 I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and they will no longer be mentioned by their name.

Ba’al is Strong’s H1168 which means “lord”. Does everyone see how confusing this is?

H1168
בּעל
ba‛al
BDB Definition:
Baal = “lord”
1) supreme male divinity of the Phoenicians or Canaanites (noun proper masculine)

We have successfully fulfilled the prophecy of forgetting His name for Baal, or Lord. Whether by accident, a deep, dark trick by the devil, or by design of Yahweh, we are here! However, as of late, more and more people throughout the world are learning the name that is a strong tower, יהוה! Blessed be the name of Yahuah! Now that we know the name is Yahweh and not Baal, let’s look at the rest of the verse.

Pro 18:10 The Name of יהוה is a strong tower; The righteous run into it and are safe.

Who are the righteous? Many take this following verse out of context, claiming none can be righteous.

Psa 14:3 All have gone astray; they are altogether corrupt. There is not one who does good; there is not even one.

If we look at the whole passage, we see that it is those who say there is no God that Yahweh is speaking about.

Psa 14:1 For the music director. Of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They do abominable deeds. There is none who does good.
Psa 14:2 Yahweh looks down from heaven upon the children of humankind to see whether there is one who has insight, one who cares about God.
Psa 14:3 All have gone astray; they are altogether corrupt. There is not one who does good; there is not even one.
Psa 14:4 All who do evil—do they not know, they who eat my people as though they were eating bread? They do not call on Yahweh.
Psa 14:5 There they are very fearful because God is with the generation of the righteous.
Psa 14:6 You would put to shame the plan of the poor, because Yahweh is his refuge.
Psa 14:7 Oh that from Zion would come salvation for Israel! When Yahweh returns the fortunes of his people, Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be happy.

Paul tells us much about these scriptures.

Rom 3:9 What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin,
Rom 3:10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;
Rom 3:11 no one understands; no one seeks for God.
Rom 3:12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”
Rom 3:13 “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” “The venom of asps is under their lips.”
Rom 3:14 “Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”
Rom 3:15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
Rom 3:16 in their paths are ruin and misery,
Rom 3:17 and the way of peace they have not known.”
Rom 3:18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
Rom 3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.
Rom 3:20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—
Rom 3:22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:
Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Rom 3:24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Rom 3:25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.
Rom 3:26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Rom 3:27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith.
Rom 3:28 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.
Rom 3:29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,
Rom 3:30 since God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.
Rom 3:31 Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

Romans 3:31, “Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.” Paul tells us we should uphold the law through faith. This is where we must “rightly divide the word of truth”. Paul’s audience would know how a person is counted as “righteous”.

Deu 6:24 And so Yahweh commanded us to observe all of these rules and to revere Yahweh our God for our benefit all the days that we live, as it is today.
Deu 6:25 And it shall be righteousness for us if we diligently observe and do all of this commandment before Yahweh our God, as he has commanded us.’

We are not considered righteous by our own deeds, it’s only when through faith we are obedient to the righteousness of God. Righteousness is defined by God, not by man. Therefore, there is no amount of money a person can pay the church, no amount of times a person can attend church, or be a “good” person in the sight of men, that will have any affect on a person’s justification before Yahweh. He calls on us to be obedient to His commandments to show our faith and love to Him. Moreover, He divinely influences our heart to walk in His ways. This is the definition of grace, Strong’s G5485.

G5485
χάρις
charis
khar’-ece
From G5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude): – acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy).

The divine influence of the heart, which has been translated to the word “grace” is exactly what Ezekiel prophesied.

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Paul speaks of this in the terms of walking in the flesh, or walking in the Spirit. This Spirit enables us to please God by submitting to His law.

Rom 8:6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
Rom 8:7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.
Rom 8:8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Rom 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

This is not very hard to understand when a person removes the twisting of scripture by people presenting a lawless gospel. The Spirit enables a person to walk in Messiah’s footsteps. Peter warned us of the weak minds who would twist the writings of Paul into a lawless gospel.

2Pe 3:14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.
2Pe 3:15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,
2Pe 3:16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.
2Pe 3:17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability.
2Pe 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

Repent, learn the name of the Lord, Yahweh, and avoid a lawless gospel leading to destruction. There is great peace in following the footsteps of our Messiah.

Celebration of Death and the Coming Winter Solstice

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

Ephesians 6:12-13

The principalities and demons Christians unwittingly empower in their lives, by celebrating their special days, are going to die like men. Which team are you on? Who are these spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places Paul is speaking about in Ephesians?

Psa 82:1 A psalm of Asaph. God stands in the divine assembly; he administers judgment in the midst of the gods.
Psa 82:2 “How long will you judge unjustly and show favoritism to the wicked? Selah.
Psa 82:3 Judge on behalf of the helpless and the orphan; provide justice to the afflicted and the poor.
Psa 82:4 Rescue the helpless and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
Psa 82:5 They do not know or consider. They go about in the darkness, so that all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
Psa 82:6 I have said, “You are gods, and sons of the Most High, all of you.
Psa 82:7 However, you will die like men, and you will fall like one of the princes.”
Psa 82:8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth, because you shall inherit all the nations.

The nations were appointed rulers by Yahweh who were supposed to rule justly, but instead they caused men to worship strange gods and demons.

Deu 32:8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.
Deu 32:9 But the LORD’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.

An example of this is seen in the book of Daniel when the prince of Persia withheld an angel until the prince Michael came to help fight him off. What type of entity is powerful enough to withhold an angel?

Dan 10:12 Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.
Dan 10:13 The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia,
Dan 10:14 and came to make you understand what is to happen to your people in the latter days. For the vision is for days yet to come.”

What are these “princes” that are so much more powerful than angels? There appears to be good ones and evil ones. The evil ones have lead astray the nations to worship the creation rather than the creator. This is what October 31 to November 1 is about. This is what December 23 to January 1 is also about.

Speaking on celebrating the Saturnalia, later to be renamed “Christmas”, Tertullian likens it to demon worship, writing about it in the fourth century.

“Then,” do you say, “the lamps before my doors, and the laurels on my posts are an honour to God?” They are there of course, not because they are an honour to God, but to him who is honour in God’s stead by ceremonial observances of that kind, so far as is manifest, saving the religious performance, which is in secret appertaining to demons. For we ought to be sure if there are any whose notice it escapes through ignorance of this world’s literature, that there are among the Romans even gods of entrances; Cardea (Hinge-goddess), called after hinges, and Forculus (Door-god) after doors, and Limentinus (Threshold-god) after the threshold, and Janus himself (Gate-god) after the gate: and of course we know that, though names be empty and reigned, yet, when they are drawn down into superstition, demons and every unclean spirit seize them for themselves, through the bond of consecration. Otherwise demons have no name individually, but they there find a name where they find also a token. Among the Greeks likewise we read of Apollo Thyraeus, i.e., of the door, and the Antelii, or Anthelii, demons, as presiders over entrances. These things, therefore, the Holy Spirit foreseeing from the beginning, fore-chanted, through the most ancient prophet Enoch, that even entrances would come into superstitious use.

I realize that Tertullian bought into the Christian anti-Semitism of the fourth century by dismissing the Sabbath, but his writings also show us how they still understood the supernatural realm and regarded Enoch as a prophet. Enoch explains where these entities came from and much about the spiritual realm. This view was widely known until the days of Augustine in the fifth century.

Then shall they be taken away into the lowest depths of the fire in torments; and in confinement shall they be shut up forever. Immediately after this shall Shemiy’aza, together with them, burn and perish; they shall be bound until the consummation of many generations. Destroy all the souls addicted to lust, and the offspring of the Watchers, for they have tyrannized over mankind. Let every oppressor perish from the face of the earth; Let every evil work be destroyed; The plant of righteousness and of rectitude appear, and its produce become a blessing. CHANOK (ENOCH) 10:16-21 את CEPHER

More from Tertullian on idolatry:

the Saturnalia and New-year’s and Midwinter’s festivals and Matronalia are frequented – presents come and go – New-year’s gifts – games join their noise – banquets join their din! Oh better fidelity of the nations to their own sect, which claims no solemnity of the Christians for itself!”

They didn’t call it “Christmas” or “Christ’s mass” in the fourth century. It was still known as the heathen celebration of the Saturnalia, a version of an ancient festival of sun god worship addressed in the scriptures repeatedly.

By the fourth century, Christianity had forsaken the fourth of the Ten Commandments which tells us to honour the Sabbaths of Yahweh; however, some still understood the first commandment on idolatry. Fast forward a few hundred years and the first commandment was no longer understood by church leadership. Fast forward hundreds of years, and the church is empowering demons on the day of the dead with trunk or treats in church parking lots, thinking they are doing something great for their god, whoever that god may be.

Where Does Your Belief System Come From?

You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:22-24

Think of any doctrine or theology that you would not compromise or question. Where did it come from? Would the apostles or the Messiah understand it? We are two thousand years removed from the Messiah walking the Earth, and just as warned, what mainstream Christianity teaches today would be foreign to first century followers of Jesus. For example, no one would understand the name “Jesus” in the first century. This name didn’t come into use until possibly the 18th century as a hodgepodge rendition of the name from a few different languages for the Hebrew name ישוע.

Blog post video

The doctrine of the trinity is also an example of something that would be foreign to a first century Christian. This isn’t an argument for or against this deep rooted belief system, just an example to show how things have changed. This is from the Athanasian Creed around 500 AD:

Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith. Which faith unless every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly. And the catholic faith is this: that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Essence. For there is one Person of the Father; another of the Son; and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one; the Glory equal, the Majesty coeternal. Such as the Father is; such is the Son; and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father uncreated; the Son uncreated; and the Holy Ghost uncreated. The Father unlimited; the Son unlimited; and the Holy Ghost unlimited. The Father eternal; the Son eternal; and the Holy Ghost eternal. And yet they are not three eternals; but one eternal. As also there are not three uncreated; nor three infinites, but one uncreated; and one infinite. So likewise the Father is Almighty; the Son Almighty; and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And yet they are not three Almighties; but one Almighty. So the Father is God; the Son is God; and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet they are not three Gods; but one God. So likewise the Father is Lord; the Son Lord; and the Holy Ghost Lord. And yet not three Lords; but one Lord. For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity; to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and Lord; So are we forbidden by the catholic religion; to say, There are three Gods, or three Lords. The Father is made of none; neither created, nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone; not made, nor created; but begotten. The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten; but proceeding. So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is before, or after another; none is greater, or less than another. But the whole three Persons are coeternal, and coequal. So that in all things, as aforesaid; the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity, is to be worshipped. He therefore that will be saved, let him thus think of the Trinity.
Furthermore, it is necessary to everlasting salvation; that he also believe faithfully the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the right Faith is, that we believe and confess; that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man; God, of the Substance [Essence] of the Father; begotten before the worlds; and Man, of the Substance [Essence] of his Mother, born in the world. Perfect God; and perfect Man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting. Equal to the Father, as touching his Godhead; and inferior to the Father as touching his Manhood. Who although he is God and Man; yet he is not two, but one Christ. One; not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh; but by assumption of the Manhood into God. One altogether; not by confusion of Substance [Essence]; but by unity of Person. For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man; so God and Man is one Christ; Who suffered for our salvation; descended into hell; rose again the third day from the dead. He ascended into heaven, he sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from whence he will come to judge the living and the dead. At whose coming all men will rise again with their bodies; And shall give account for their own works. And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting; and they that have done evil, into everlasting fire. This is the catholic faith; which except a man believe truly and firmly, he cannot be saved.

It wasn’t until 500 AD that this became law, and a salvation issue. Most Protestant denominations hold to this as well as Catholics today. Both Protestants and Catholics murdered people who dared to question this. It is a terrible thing for people who claim to be following the living God, Yahweh, to murder someone who has a different understanding than they do. I would be burned at the stake for most of my blog posts if I lived during the Protestant reformation or before. In fact, both Protestants and Catholics would probably put their differences aside, temporarily, to silence me. The hatred of Hebrew thought runs deep in Christianity, whether Christians know this or not. Would Paul agree with, or even understand what was trying to be conveyed with Christian doctrines? Did Paul kill anyone who did not agree with him after His conversion? He certainly acted this way before his encounter on route to Damascus.

Yahweh, through the prophet Isaiah, did not recite the Athanasian Creed. He made it clear that He is it. “And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God besides me, and no savior besides me.”

Isa 45:20 Assemble and come; draw near together, survivors of the nations! They do not know, those who carry their wooden idols and pray to a god who cannot save.
Isa 45:21 Declare and present your case, also let them consult together! Who made this known from former times, declared it from of old? Was it not I, Yahweh? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God besides me, and no savior besides me.
Isa 45:22 Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none besides me.
Isa 45:23 I have sworn by myself; a word that shall not return has gone forth from my mouth in righteousness: ‘Every knee shall kneel down to me; every tongue shall swear.’
Isa 45:24 ‘Only in Yahweh,’ one shall say to me, ‘are righteousness and strength.’ He shall come to him, and all those who were angry with him shall be ashamed.

In another place we see the relationship of the spirit of Yahweh resting on the “righteous branch”, the Messiah.

Isa 11:1 And a shoot will come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from its roots will bear fruit.
Isa 11:2 And the spirit of Yahweh shall rest on him—a spirit of wisdom and understanding, a spirit of counsel and might, a spirit of knowledge and the fear of Yahweh.

These verses from John in Revelation definitely do not fit the model of the three in one God. Here are the seven spirits again as in Isaiah. John calls the Father “his God” speaking of Jesus. Then John quotes Zechariah 12:10.

Rev 1:4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,
Rev 1:5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood
Rev 1:6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Rev 1:7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.
Rev 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

This is Yahweh speaking: Zechariah 12:10 , “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.

Would Yahweh or Jesus agree with the Athanasian Creed? When Jesus was asked about the most important commandment, He stated the Shema, something that was outlawed by the church in the sixth century.

Mar 12:28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”
Mar 12:29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Mar 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

For a Christian who is never taught anything from the Old Testament, it may be unclear what Jesus was quoting. Seeing how quoting this was illegal for Christians, banned in 529 CE by Christian emperor Justinian, I understand why these verses in Deuteronomy are never highlighted.

Deu 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
Deu 6:5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Deu 6:6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
Deu 6:7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
Deu 6:8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
Deu 6:9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

This idea of three gods being of the same substance but still one god may be a way to try to convey the relationship between Father, Son and Spirit, but shouldn’t be a reason to murder someone or question their salvation. Jesus says “the Father is greater than I” but In another place, Matthew 11:27, “All things have been handed over to me by my Father”.

Joh 14:24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.
Joh 14:25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you.
Joh 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Joh 14:28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

The point is that the trinity concept, imposed on Christianity, did not take a hold until the late fourth century, and its wording comes from Greek or Egyptian thought of the Egyptian godhead, not Hebrew thought of Eloheem. Some would say I am denying the trinity and call me a heretic, but I am just pointing to scripture that shows the Eloheem of the Israelites does not necessarily fit in a Greek container.

There are other examples of doctrines that originate from Greek Philosophy and ancient Egyptian religion. The eternal soul is another belief that comes from Greek philosophy and the love of Plato by early, church fathers.

Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.
Col 2:9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,
Col 2:10 and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

Hebrew thought does not involve an immortal soul. Jesus believed in a resurrection of the dead, not the Greek and Egyptian view of the material body being evil, and that the soul has to be released to go to a paradise type place with the gods. Christianity has blended this Greek thought of body and soul into “dying and having your soul go to heaven to be with Jesus”. This is what Jesus taught:

Joh 5:25 “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
Joh 5:26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.
Joh 5:27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.
Joh 5:28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
Joh 5:29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

Jesus, or Yeshua in Hebrew, said, ”all who are in the tombs will hear his voice”. If when a Christian dies they have an immortal soul that goes to be with Jesus in heaven, is that soul without ears to hear? Why would they hear Him from the tomb if a non-material soul of the believer is already in heaven with Him? It makes more sense when it is understood Yeshua meant what he said, and the Greek thought of an immortal soul was injected into both Judaism and Christianity at a later date. Yeshua was quoting Daniel.

Dan 12:1 “At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book.
Dan 12:2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Dan 12:3 And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

Paul has a similar understanding.

1Co 15:50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
1Co 15:51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

The revelation of John also reinforces the idea of a resurrection.

Rev 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.
Rev 20:14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
Rev 20:15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

I found something interesting while looking at Death and Hades being thrown into the lake of fire. One might ask, ”How can death be thrown anywhere where it is just the state of no longer living?”. The Greek word that gets translated to ”death” is actually the Greek god of death’s name. Likewise with Hades, this is the name of the god of the underworld. These are gods that get thrown into the lake of fire. Is it possible there are spiritual entities that rule death and the grave who are physically going to be destroyed? Psalms 82:6 -7 “I have said, “You are gods, and sons of the Most High, all of you. However, you will die like men, and you will fall like one of the princes”.

There is cognitive dissonance with Christians today. They would argue that the soul of Jesus went to be with the Father when He was in the tomb three days and three nights, or their loved ones’ souls are right now in Heaven talking with each other and hanging out with Jesus. This is Greek thought made popular in the school of Alexandria, once the new converts, who were former Greek philosophers, took over the reigns of Christianity. One aspect of this was the belief of preexisting souls. This was Greek thought that church father, Origen, made popular where God just reuses the souls of the dead, or your soul is existing somewhere before you are born in the flesh. Hebrew thought is much different.

Isa 44:24 Thus says Yahweh, your redeemer, and he who formed you in the womb: “I am Yahweh, who made everything, who stretched out the heavens alone, who spread out the earth—who was with me?—

Job 31:15 Did not he who made me in the womb make him? And did not one fashion us in the womb?

So, those who hold onto such things as the trinitarian belief system and the immortal soul, not to mention, all of the blatant blending of pagan deities and holidays; are you able to defend these things with scripture? I have heard it said from that pulpit that, “I believe everything between the covers of this book” as the person was holding up the Bible. Is that true, or do most Christians simply believe what they have been told is written on the pages of the Bible, while actually just believing hundreds of years of manmade traditions based on Greek and Egyptian mythology and philosophy?

The only solution is to pray for wisdom and understanding, the Holy Spirit of Truth, following the commandments that Yahweh gave us, which Yeshua and the apostles also emphasized.

1Jn 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him.
1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

1Jn 5:4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
1Jn 5:5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
1Jn 5:6 This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

Understand what you believe, where it originated from and why. Your life on this Earth and eternity depends on it.

In the Weeds of Iniquity

Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers [anomia], and throw them into the fiery furnace. Matthew 13:40-43

The purpose of all these blog posts I write, is to try to reach people in the church who have been deceived by a lawless gospel. It is plain to see this lawless gospel once a person’s eyes are opened, and hard to watch people in the churches blindly practicing iniquity. The Greek word that is translated to iniquity, or lawlessness, is Strong’s G458.

G458
ἀνομία
anomia
Thayer Definition:
1) the condition of without law
1a) because ignorant of it
1b) because of violating it
2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness

The associated word is Strong’s G459.

G459
ἄνομος
anomos
Thayer Definition:
1) destitute of (the Mosaic) law
1a) of the Gentiles

2) departing from the law, a violator of the law, lawless, wicked

These definitions are from the Thayer Greek lexicon. Strong’s has a little different definition.

G459
ἄνομος
anomos
an’-om-os
From G1 (as a negative particle) and G3551; lawless, that is, (negatively) not subject to (the Jewish) law; (by implication a Gentile), or (positively) wicked: – without law, lawless, transgressor, unlawful, wicked.

The deception lies with, “not subject to (the Jewish) law; (by implication a Gentile)”. If you are serving the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, you are no longer a Gentile. Moreover, Jewish laws are rules added to Yahweh’s instructions that are followed in Judaism. These should not be confused with the instructions from Yahweh in the Torah. This is serious business when reading the words of our Messiah.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

With what we learned about the Greek word that is translated “iniquity”, we could provide a more accurate translation of these verses.

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that are ignorantly or willfully violating my instructions.

If being ignorant of the instructions of God gives a person a free pass, why do these people say, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?”?

I used to wonder at these verses before I understood the definition of iniquity. How could a person know what the Father expects? How can a person avoid hearing the words “depart from me”?

Deu 6:24 And so Yahweh commanded us to observe all of these rules and to revere Yahweh our God for our benefit all the days that we live, as it is today.
Deu 6:25 And it shall be righteousness for us if we diligently observe and do all of this commandment before Yahweh our God, as he has commanded us.’

These are not Jewish commandments such as washing pots and hands properly. Do not confuse the commandments of God with the traditions of men.

Mar 7:3 (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands properly, holding to the tradition of the elders,
Mar 7:4 and when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions that they observe, such as the washing of cups and pots and copper vessels and dining couches.)

Jesus is very clear about the distinction.

Mar 7:6 And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;
Mar 7:7 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
Mar 7:8 You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”
Mar 7:9 And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!

The Pharisees added and took away from the commandments of God just as the church does. Examples of the church adding and taking away are adding festivals of pagan deities and taking away the Sabbaths of Yahweh. These are blatant violations.

Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.
Gen 2:3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

Imagine that at the foundation of the entire universe, God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, or set apart and different. Next He told His followers in an audible voice at Mount Horeb how special the day is.

Deu 5:13 Six days you shall work, and you shall do all of your work,
Deu 5:14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath unto Yahweh your God; you shall not do any work, or your son, or your daughter, or your slave, or your slave woman, or your ox, or your donkey, or any of your domestic animals, or your resident alien who is in your towns, so that your slave and your slave woman may rest as you rest.
Deu 5:15 And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Yahweh your God brought you out with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm; therefore, Yahweh your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath.

Yahweh then sent His prophets to remind His people about the Sabbath.

Isa 56:4 For thus says Yahweh, “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, and choose that in which I delight, and who keep hold of my covenant.
Isa 56:5 And I will give them a monument and a name in my house and within my walls, better than sons and daughters; I will give him an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.
Isa 56:6 And the foreigners who join themselves to Yahweh to serve him and to love the name of Yahweh, to become his servants, every one who keeps the Sabbath, so as not to profane it, and those who keep hold of my covenant,
Isa 56:7 I will bring them to my holy mountain; I will make them merry in my house of prayer. their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar, for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples,”

Finally Yahweh sent His son.

Mar 2:27 And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
Mar 2:28 So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”

Joh 14:23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
Joh 14:24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.

Christians say “yeah whatever, that was for someone else. I am going to do what I want because my pastor said I could”. They say “Sunday is the Lord’s day and we go to church and give a tithe, so we are free to do whatever we want now”. This was also prophesied by Jeremiah and Ezekiel. These prophesies are for the latter days.

Jer 23:16 Thus says Yahweh of hosts, “You must not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They are deluding you with visions of their mind, They do not speak from the mouth of Yahweh.
Jer 23:17 They are continually saying to those who disregard the word of Yahweh, ‘Peace it will be to you,’ and to each one who walks in the stubbornness of his heart they say, ‘Calamity will not come upon you.’
Jer 23:18 For who has stood in the council of Yahweh, that he has seen and heard his word? Who has listened attentively to his word and heard it?
Jer 23:19 Look, the storm of Yahweh has gone forth in wrath, even a whirling tempest. It will whirl upon the head of the wicked.
Jer 23:20 The anger of Yahweh will not turn back until his doing and until his keeping the plans of his mind. In latter days you will look closely at it with understanding.

Eze 22:26 Its priests treat my law violently, and they profane my holy objects; they do not distinguish between a holy object and what is unholy, or between the clean and the unclean. They do not teach the difference, and they hide their eyes from my Sabbaths, and so I am profaned in the midst of them.
Eze 22:27 Its officials are like wolves tearing prey in its midst, to pour out blood, to destroy people, to make dishonest gain.

Jesus gave us a parable to describe this situation.

Mat 21:33 “Hear another parable. There was a master of a house who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a winepress in it and built a tower and leased it to tenants, and went into another country.
Mat 21:34 When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to get his fruit.
Mat 21:35 And the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another.
Mat 21:36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them.
Mat 21:37 Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
Mat 21:38 But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’
Mat 21:39 And they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
Mat 21:40 When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”
Mat 21:41 They said to him, “He will put those wretches to a miserable death and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”

The Sabbath is only one example. I suggest taking the commandments of Yahweh seriously. They are for our benefit. Who has the authority to claim that which Yahweh said for His people to do does not matter any more? Does a pastor of a church? Perhaps an emperor? A prophet or priest? No, nobody.

Deu 13:5 But that prophet or the dreamer of that dream shall be executed, for he spoke falsely about Yahweh your God, the one bringing you out from the land of Egypt and the one redeeming you from the house of slavery, in order to seduce you from the way that Yahweh your God commanded you to go in it; so in this way you shall purge the evil from your midst.

All these abominations that have been brought into the church are tests from Yahweh to see if the people truly love him. Yeshua could not endorse changing the Sabbath without violating these words in Deuteronomy. He also would not endorse eating things the Father said not to eat. These things are proclaimed “in order to seduce you from the way that Yahweh your God commanded you to go in it”. Once the enemy has seduced a person to disregard the commandments of Yahweh, then that person will have serious problems to contend with. They may still do “great works in my name”, but the Father does not hear their prayers.

Pro 28:9 If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.

A counterfeit gospel has been brought forth and widely accepted. It has caused people to forget the name of God, His instructions and the righteous, ancient path. The enemy has sowed the tares to weaken the church.

Mar 1:14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God,
Mar 1:15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Jesus started His ministry with the message to repent and believe the gospel. This Gospel Jesus preached was much different than what is taught today. The gospel is the good news that you are able to repent and draw near to the kingdom of God! So, take it seriously and search these matters out.

When did the Church Start?

Yahweh called your name, ‘A leafy olive tree, beautiful with fine fruit.’ With the sound of a great storm he will set fire to it, and its branches will be good for nothing. And Yahweh of hosts, the one who planted you, has spoken evil against you, because of the evil of the house of Israel…

Fulfilling Prophecy Poorly

Syncretization

Just as Yahweh commanded us not to worship Him with the same symbols, traditions and manners the other nations worshipped their gods, the Apostles gave this same instruction to new believers unfamiliar with the teachings of the Torah. Unfortunately, they did not listen, and the church syncretized every day, tradition and symbol from the worship of other gods they could find.

Deu 12:29 “When Yahweh your God has cut off the nations whom you are about to go to, to dispossess them before you, and you have dispossessed them, and you live in their land,
Deu 12:30 take care so that you are not ensnared into imitating them after their being destroyed from before you, and so that you not enquire concerning their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods, and thus I myself want to do also.’
Deu 12:31 You must not do so toward Yahweh your God, because of every detestable thing they have done for their gods Yahweh hates, for even their sons and their daughters they would burn in the fire to their gods.
Deu 12:32 All of the things that I am commanding you, you must diligently observe; you shall not add to it, and you shall not take away from it.”

Act 15:19 Therefore my judgment is that we should not trouble those of the Gentiles who turn to God,
Act 15:20 but should write to them to abstain from the things polluted by idols, and from sexual immorality, and from what has been strangled, and from blood.
Act 15:21 For from ancient generations Moses has had in every city those who proclaim him, for he is read every Sabbath in the synagogues.”

Where is the Church in Prophecy?

Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe. Command and teach these things.

1 Timothy 4:7-11

There is a narrative that many evangelical Christians were raised in that is severely flawed. The twentieth century birthed much speculation on eschatology, which is a big name for end times prophecy. There were countless books written discussing such things as “pre, mid and post trib” raptures, left behind books and movies, along with other mythical works.

2Ti 4:3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
2Ti 4:4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

These words of Paul especially describe the pop gospel found in all the churches today. Hirelings preach what the church people want to hear. Smooth things that do not hurt anyone’s feelings, which is actually the real prophecy in motion.

“The way” is following the way in which Yahweh instructed, and His son, Yeshua, exemplified during His time on Earth. Unfortunately, the church lost the way many years ago. This is prophecy. Prophecy is not that Jesus is going to whisk away a group of people doing everything He warned them not to do so they do not experience any judgement here on Earth. One of the story lines that went viral in the twentieth century, is a prophecy in Daniel.

Dan 9:24 “Seventy weeks is decreed for your people and for your holy city, to put an end to the transgression and to seal up sin and to make atonement for guilt and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal vision and prophet and to anoint the most holy place.
Dan 9:25 And you must know and you must understand that from the time of the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem until an anointed one—a leader—will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be restored and will be built with streets and a moat, but in a time of oppression.
Dan 9:26 “And after the sixty and two weeks an anointed one shall be cut off, and he shall have nothing, and the people of the coming leader will destroy the city and the sanctuary, and its end will be with the flood and on to the end there shall be war; these desolations are determined.
Dan 9:27 And he will make a strong covenant with the many for one week, but in half of the week he will let cease sacrifice and offering and in its place a desolating abomination comes even until the determined complete destruction is poured out on the desolator.”

The problem is that this prophecy gets split in half. The first half is identified as the Messiah, and the second half is identified as the anti-messiah, when it is really all about the Messiah. “And he will make a strong covenant with the many for one week, but in half of the week he will let cease sacrifice and offering and in its place a desolating abomination” This is not about the anti-Christ making a covenant with the 1948 birthed nation state of Israel in a seven year tribulation, then halfway through breaking it, as we have been told. This second part of the prophecy is about the Messiah just as, “to put an end to the transgression and to seal up sin and to make atonement for guilt and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal vision and prophet and to anoint the most holy place”. The second half speaks of his death and putting an end to the sacrifices. Otherwise, we would have to insert at least a 2000 year gap between week 69 and week 70. This is flawed thinking.

If we remove the “anti-Christ”, the alleged ”he” in verse 27, breaking a covenant with Israel in the middle of a seven year tribulation” narrative, every book from 1970 forward, concerning prophecy, suddenly loses steam. So much has been built on “smooth things and illusions”.

The idea that the church and Israel are two separate groups with two different gods, Jesus and Yahweh, and with two different prophetic outcomes, is an old heresy called Marcionism. It later was rolled into dispensational theology in the twentieth century, and is the basis of most evangelical churches’ belief systems today.

Who is the new covenant with? It’s not with anything called the church. It is with the House of Israel (northern ten tribes),and the House of Judah (Judah and Benjamin).

Heb 8:8 For he finds fault with them when he says: “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
Heb 8:9 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord.

To say that the covenant is with “the church”, meaning a group of people that separate themselves from the two houses, is a form of replacement theology, and it is built on a foundation of anti-semitism. There is only one people group of Yahweh, and it is those who follow His commandments and have faith in Yeshua, being grafted into the commonwealth of Israel.

1Jn 3:4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
1Jn 3:5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.
1Jn 3:6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him.
1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.
1Jn 3:10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

The one thing Israel and the church do have in common is they both love idolatry. Some say that there is no evidence of the church past a certain part of Revelation, therefore proving the pre-tribulation rapture. Unfortunately, the church is there because they would not listen to the words of Yeshua (Jesus).

Idolatry and sexual immorality are often interchangeable because Yahweh views idolatry that His chosen people commit as sexual immorality. Read the entire book of Hosea to understand this concept.

Hos 2:1 Say to your brother, “Ammi,” and to your sister, “Ruhamah.”
Hos 2:2 Plead with your mother, plead—because she is not my wife, and I am not her husband. Let her put away her whoring from before her, and her adultery from between her breasts.
Hos 2:3 Lest I strip her naked and expose her like the day when she was born; I will make her like the desert and turn her into parched land; I will kill her with thirst.
Hos 2:4 And I will not have pity on her children, because they are children of whoredom.
Hos 2:5 Because their mother was unfaithful; she who conceived them has acted shamefully, for she said: “I will go after my lovers, the ones who give me my bread, my water, my wool, and my flax, my oil, and my drink.”
Hos 2:6 Therefore, Look! I am going to hedge her path with thorns, and I will build a stone wall, a stone wall against her, and she will not find her paths.
Hos 2:7 Then she will pursue her lovers, but she will not overtake them; she will seek them and not find them; and she will say, “I will go and return to my first husband because it was better for me then than now.”
Hos 2:8 But she did not know that it was I who gave her grain, new wine, and oil, and who gave her silver in abundance, and gold which they made into a Baal.
Hos 2:9 Therefore I will take again my grain in its time, and my wine in its season; and I will take away my wool and my flax, which were to cover her nakedness.
Hos 2:10 And now I will uncover her nakedness before the eyes of her lovers, and no one will rescue her from my hand.
Hos 2:11 And I will put an end to all her mirth, her festivals, her new moons, and her Sabbaths, and all her appointed festivals;
Hos 2:12 and I will lay waste to her vines and her fig trees, of which she said, “They are my payment for prostitution, which my lovers gave to me.” I will make them a forest, and the wild animals of the field will devour them.
Hos 2:13 I will punish her for the days of the Baals, to whom she burns incense, and she decked herself with her ornamental ring and jewelry, and she went after her lovers, and forgot me—a declaration of Yahweh.

Paul spoke of new Christian converts reverting back to their former idolatrous ways. Many of these people were descendants of the Northern kingdom, called the House of Israel. This is who was being spoken of in the verses from Hosea above. They loved idolatry.

Gal 4:8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods.
Gal 4:9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?
Gal 4:10 You observe days and months and seasons and years!
Gal 4:11 I am afraid I may have labored over you in vain.

Paul is not talking to “the Jews” in these verses. The days, months, seasons and years they were observing were the same ones the church took on as their own. These are not about Yahweh’s sabbaths and feast days. These people didn’t know Yahweh. “Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods”. Paul is speaking about idolatry, such as: sun god worship, Samhain, Ishtar, Yule etc.. Instead of the people listening to Paul, they took over the church with these pagan practices that morphed into what we have today. Like much prophecy, church people are looking for things to happen in the future, such as a great falling away, that started happening in the Apostle’s days. The Roman church just figured out how to slap a Jesus label on all the abominations they were doing.

Col 2:6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him,
Col 2:7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

If the House of Israel was labeled a great whore for being polluted by idols, why wouldn’t their descendants in the church be given the same label for doing the same things? All of the church’s special days are polluted with idols and are masks for ancient practices of witchcraft, even if they are attributed to Jesus. Jesus becomes Baal in this case. This is why I mostly refer to the Messiah by His Hebrew name, Yeshua, so as not to confuse him with someone who has been put in the middle of practices Yahweh calls abominations. Therefore, it is no problem to see where the church is in Revelation.

Rev 17:1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters,
Rev 17:2 with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.”
Rev 17:3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns.
Rev 17:4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.
Rev 17:5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.”
Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marveled greatly.

The words that were written on the forehead of the woman have been translated many different ways. There are three words I want to focus on: mystery, prostitutes and abominations.

Abominations is used for the Greek word which is Strong’s G946

Since we are not talking about a literal woman who is a harlot, all of the metaphorical definitions apply to both the House of Israel and the so-called church. Based on these definitions, it is all about idolatry and mystery religions.

The words on the head of the woman riding the beast could be translated as:

“And on her forehead was written of the mystery religions: “Babylon the great, mother of idolatry and all of the Earth’s idols and idolatrous symbols.”

Ancient Babylon is the root of all of the church’s holy days that are counterfeits to the holy days of Yahweh. The seventh day sabbath moved to “sun” day. The birthdays of the sun gods, at the winter solstice, were all rolled into Jesus’ birthday. The festival days of Ishtar, called the queen of heaven, were not even relabeled, as the spring festival is still called Easter, after the goddess. Mary, the mother of Jesus was given the label “queen of heaven”. The new year is celebrated for Janus and Good Friday is celebrated for Frigg or Freya, who is Odin’s wife. Odin is just a Nordic version of Baal. They all started in Babylon with Nimrod, Semiramis and the mystery religions.

This is an endless study because it is a web of confusion. It is much better to study the true feast days and set apart days of Yahweh, and learn how Yeshua fulfilled these days, or will fulfill them in the future, rather than getting wrapped up in the myths of the adversary’s days that are assigned to Jesus. Even Groundhog Day can be traced back to Imbolc. These days in the eight pointed star wheel of the year are all high Sabbats in witchcraft and satanism.

These were the festivals the ancients all observed, and that Israel continually got entangled in. These are the days that caused Solomon to lose the kingdom, ultimately putting both the houses of Israel and Judah into captivity. The house of Israel was dispersed into the nations. The Messiah came to bring the House of Israel back, but unfortunately, they ultimately did not listen. Now the church has become the great harlot, whoring after these same gods with Santa Clause, trunk-or-treats, egg hunts, asherah poles (Christmas trees), and obelisks (stone pillars). They honour the Baal’s and the queen of heaven with all their symbols, and just like the House of Israel, they say they are doing it for “God” or “Jesus”. The true God, Yahweh, said not to do this!

Jesus would have no part of it either. The Jesus the church portrays is not Yeshua, who is one with the Father.

Joh 10:30 I and the Father are one.

Joh 10:37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me;
Joh 10:38 but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.

The first thing the apostles told the new pagan coverts in the church to do was not to have anything to do with things polluted by idols. They obviously didn’t listen and took over the church early on.

Now you know where the church is spoken about in the later prophecies of Revelation. It is not good. Rebellious people do not get whisked out of the way of trouble in a so-called pre-trib rapture. People rebelling against Yahweh’s ways do not have a happy ending.

Mat 24:29  “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Mat 24:30  Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31  And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

His elect gathered after the tribulation are not a rebellious people found doing trunk or treats on the ancient day of the dead, or gathering painted eggs to honour Ishtar. Repent from idolatry and stop being entangled with all the symbols polluted by idols. Transform the church into what Yeshua expects.

Rev 3:1  And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
Rev 3:2  Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Rev 3:3  Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Rev 3:4  Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
Rev 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Rev 3:6  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Curious Shenanigans

The word curious comes from Latin according to etymoline.com. “mid-14c., “subtle, sophisticated;” late 14c., “eager to know, inquisitive, desirous of seeing” (often in a bad sense), also “wrought with or requiring care and art;” from Old French curios “solicitous, anxious, inquisitive; odd, strange” (Modern French curieux) and directly from Latin curiosus “careful, diligent; inquiring eagerly, meddlesome,” akin to cura “care” (see cure (n.)).”

I am playing with words because the word we are looking at in this blog post is the Greek word Kurios, which sounds something like curious. So, we are being curious about the word Kurios.

Why do we not see the name of Yahweh in the New Testament? It appears over 6000 times in the Old Testament. In most English Bibles it is rendered LORD. Many Bible prefaces with explain that LORD replaces the name of Yahweh. Yet in the New Testament, we do not see LORD; typically, we simply see “Lord”. LORD will only show up in an obvious, direct quote from the Old Testament that includes Yahweh. Is the term “Lord” speaking of a different Lord, or the same LORD?

Jer 23:26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
Jer 23:27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.

Baal is Strong’s H1168, meaning lord.

H1168
בּעל
ba‛al
BDB Definition:
Baal = “lord”
1) supreme male divinity of the Phoenicians or Canaanites (noun proper masculine)
2) a Reubenite (noun proper masculine)
3) the son of Jehiel and grandfather of Saul (noun proper masculine)
4) a town of Simeon, probably identical to Baalath-beer (noun proper locative)

Perhaps I am overthinking this, but Yahweh said we would forget His name for Baal. Baal here is presumed to be a Phoenician deity, but ask any average Christian today and they will call the Creator, lord and Jesus lord, yet not know the Creator’s name or how it relates to the Hebrew name of Jesus, Yeshua or Yahusha.

The Greek translation of what we call the Old Testament was around, at least in part, as early as 200 BCE. It is called the Greek Septuagint, and it replaces the name of Yahweh, יהוה, with the Greek word Kurios.

Here are three translations of Genesis 2:8:

Lexham English Bible:

Gen 2:8 And Yahweh God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

King James Version:

Gen 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

The Scriptures 2009 Version:

Gen 2:8 And יהוה Elohim planted a garden in Ěḏen, to the east, and there He put the man whom He had formed.

I like the Scriptures Version, where they just leave the four Hebrew letters of the name without translating, transliterating or substituting it.

The Old Testament is easy in terms of the name of God because we have really old Hebrew manuscripts that show us the name of God in Hebrew. When we get to the New Testament, we only have Greek manuscripts, mostly. Let’s look at the Greek Septuagint rendering of Genesis 2:8 for a reference point.

The Greek word used for Yahweh is Kurios, Strong’s G2962.

G2962
κύριος
kurios
Thayer Definition:
1) he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord
1a) the possessor and disposer of a thing
1a1) the owner; one who has control of the person, the master
1a2) in the state: the sovereign, prince, chief, the Roman emperor
1b) is a title of honour expressive of respect and reverence, with which servants greet their master
1c) this title is given to: God, the Messiah

The Greek Septuagint predates the writings of the New Testament, and we can easily see the influence of using Kurios for the name of Yahweh in the Greek manuscripts. “Angel of the Lord” is a recognizable phrase from the Old Testament. In the New Testament, this phrase is used quoting Old Testament verses and on its own, such as the angel of the Lord who spoke to Joseph. In Acts chapter seven, Stephen is retelling the story of the angel of the Lord appearing to Moses.

King James Version:

Act 7:30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.

The Scriptures 2009 Version:

Act 7:30 “And after forty years were completed, a Messenger of יהוה appeared to him in a flame of fire in a bush, Exo 3:2 in the wilderness of Mount Sinai.

Exodus 3:2 is being quoted here in Acts 7:30. “Angel of the LORD” is Angel of Yahweh, with the name being in the Hebrew as יהוה. The Scriptures translation simplifies this for us.

Exo 3:2 And the Messenger of יהוה appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. And he looked and saw the bush burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.

This can all seem very confusing, which reinforces the prophesy of Yahweh in Jeremiah 23, saying the prophets would lie and hide his name, replacing it for Baal, or lord.

If we look at Acts 7:30 in the New Testament Greek manuscripts, we can see the Greek word is Kurios, Strong’s G2962, just as is used for the name Yahweh in the Greek Septuagint.

Greek New Testament Interlinear

It appears that wherever Kurios is used in the Greek, the writers were substituting it for the name of God, Yahweh, just as English translations use LORD in the Old Testament and Lord in the New Testament. What is very confusing is using Lord in the New Testament could mean lord, master or Yahweh, depending on the context. Here is a verse using Kurios twice, which would not appear to be substituted for Yahweh the first time and master the second time.

Act 2:34 For G1063  David G1138  is not G3756  ascended G305  into G1519  the G3588  heavens: G3772  but G1161  he G846  saith G3004  himself, The G3588  LORD G2962  said G2036  unto my G3450  Lord, G2962  Sit G2521  thou on G1537  my G3450  right hand, G1188
Act 2:35 Until G2193  I make G5087 G302  thy G4675  foes G2190  thy footstool. G5286 G4675 G4228

Both times Strong’s G2962 is used for Lord, even though the first time is all capitals quoting Psalms 110 for Yahweh, and the second time is simply Lord or Master. Here is the verse being quoted in Psalms using the Lexham English version.

Psa 110:1 Of David. A psalm. A declaration of Yahweh to my lord, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.”

In the Greek Septuagint, Strong’s G2962 is only used once, seemingly for the name Yahweh.

Why does Luke use Kurios twice in Acts, quoting a verse that only uses it once in the Septuagint? Probably because the reader knew how to differentiate, or we do not have the original manuscripts. The Scriptures 2009 version seems to translate these verses in a way that would be consistent with the Hebrew scriptures.

Psa 110:1 יהוה said to my Master, “Sit at My right hand, Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”

Act 2:34 “For Dawiḏ did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself said, ‘יהוה said to my Master, “Sit at My right hand,
Act 2:35 until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” ’ Psa 110:1.

Another translation that attempts to correct the Kurios confusion of the New Testament is the eth-Cepher. Here are the verses we used for examples in this translation.

Act 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he said himself, Yahuah said unto my Adonai, Sit on my right hand,
Act 2:35 Until I make your foes your footstool.

Psa 110:1 YAHUAH said unto my Adonai, Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footpath.

The name of the Creator of the universe is very important. It is not just the phonetics and spelling, but the reputation and fame as the word “name” means. A verse that would be nice to have a proper translation for, is Philippians 2:11. Is Paul claiming Jesus is Yahweh here, or does He mean something else?

King James Version:

Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Php 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Php 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Scriptures 2009 version using the Hebrew name Yahusha, in Hebrew, for Jesus:

Php 2:9 Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name,
Php 2:10 that at the Name of יהושע every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
Php 2:11 and every tongue should confess (Isa 45:23) that יהושע Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Elohim the Father.

Finally, the eth-Cepher version:

Php 2:9 Wherefore Elohiym also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Php 2:10 That at the name of Yahusha every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Php 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Yahuah is Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, to the glory of Elohiym the Father.

The eth-Cepher actually translates the verse to say that “Yahweh is Jesus Christ to the glory of God the Father”. In light of Isaiah 45, I can see how it could be translated this way. These are the verses Paul is quoting.

Isa 45:25 In Yahweh all the offspring of Israel shall be in the right, and they shall boast.”

This offends many people who picture three separate gods in a trinity. I am not saying one of these translations is better than the other, just pointing out the differences in case people are ignorant of them. It will be up to the reader to interpret what all this use of Kurios means. Jesus points out the importance of declaring the name of God.

Joh 17:25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me.
Joh 17:26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

Jesus also points out that He is one with the Father.

If Yeshua is not Yahweh, then He is a mirror image according to this, He definitely is not a new god with His own agenda as some like to say.

The purpose of this blog post is simply to bring awareness to the fact the Yahweh didn’t disappear in the writings of the New Testament. He is still prominently there amongst the word twisting of Kurios. Only someone who wants to know the truth will be curious enough to try to understand the difference between Yahweh, Master and Lord.
