Religion, Doctrine and Cults

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

1 Timothy 6:3–5 (KJV 1900)

Religion is an intellectual commitment to a set of beliefs or supreme being. There are thousands of Christian denominations, several Jewish belief systems, doctrines of Islam, such as Sunni and Shia, Buddhism, and all of the so-called cults that different religions identify as “heretical”. How do we know the truth? Is there truth, or is it just personal preference which god one serves? Who is it that has the knowledge to determine which sects are to be labelled cults?

During the late first century and early second century, there was a person called Marcion, who was considered a heretic by all of the early church fathers. They wrote volumes against Marcion. Marcion is credited with the terms “old” and “new” testaments. He believed the God of the “Old Testament” was a mean creator god with many laws, and Jesus came to free us from this law. Marcion believed that the apostle Paul’s teachings were the only valid doctrine for the Christian church to follow.

This belief system, deemed heretical by first century standards, sounds a lot like mid-Acts dispensationalism. Many Protestant churches follow some form of dispensationalism theology. Since each sect of Protestantism may mix and match the various forms of dispensationalism theology, I am going to generalize with some liberty. Here is a chart showing when the various forms of dispensationalism theology started.

By ValtteriLahti12 – Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=133437516

Pentecostals use dispensationalism for eschatology, and I would place the Pentecostal churches I have been involved with in the Acts 2 container of dispensationalism. Baptists would fall into the mid-Acts or Classic Pauline Dispensationalism with the exception of still requiring water baptism. Again, this is an over simplified, generalized explanation of some complex nuances of doctrine.

At the same time, there are many people involved in religion that do not even know where there beliefs originated or at what time in history they began. They appear to assume what they believe is what the New Testament churches believed simply because someone told them so.

There are many parts of dispensationalism that are very close to Marcionism, the first century belief system that early church fathers fought hard to dispute. Were they right in doing so, or was Marcion right? Most people today do not even know they are taking sides. “Ignorance is bliss”, so they say.

Some Protestants believe in replacement theology or supersessionism. This system believes the “church” has replaced Israel in the promises given to Israel and that Jesus invalidated the Old Testament law given to Moses by God. The church will experience the blessings intended for Israel in this belief system. I do not know anyone personally who believes this way today. Some of its deeply rooted tentacles still find their way into Christianity simply because “modern Christianity” was formed by replacement theology. The following is from https://www.khouse.org/articles/2020/1372/.

  • Ignatius of Antioch (ca 50-117 AD) — Taught that those
who partake of the Passover are partakers with those who killed Jesus.
  • Justin Martyr (100-106 AD) — Claimed God’s covenant with Israel was no longer valid and that the Gentiles had replaced the Jews.
  • Irenaeus (ca 130-202 AD) — Declared the Jews were disinherited from the grace of God.
  • Tertullian (ca 155-230 AD) — Blamed the Jews for the death of Jesus and argued they had been rejected by God.
  • Origen (185-254 AD) — He was responsible for much anti-Semitism, all of which was based on his assertion that the Jews were responsible for killing Jesus.
  • The Council of Nicea (325 AD in Anatolia) — Prohibited Christians from sharing a meal with a Jew, marrying a Jew, blessing a Jew or observing the Sabbath. They changed the celebration of the Resurrection from the Jewish Feast of First Fruits to Easter in an attempt to disassociate it from Jewish feasts. The Council stated: “For it is unbecoming beyond measure that on this holiest of festivals we should follow the customs of the Jews. Henceforth let us have nothing in common with this odious people…” It decided that “the Sunday a week after the Sunday after Passover would be the official date, and that all celebrating on Passover would be considered anathema.” This is when the persecution of the Quartodecimans begins. The term “Quartodeciman” is Latin for “fourteeners“ and it referred to those that celebrated Passover on 14 Nisan.
  • Eusebius (ca 275-339 AD) — Taught that the promises of Scripture were meant for the Gentiles and the curses were meant for the Jews. He asserted that the Church was the “true Israel.”
  • Hilary of Poitiers (AD 291-371) wrote: “Jews are a perverse people accursed by God forever.”
  • Gregory of Nyssa (died AD 394), Bishop of Cappadocia wrote: “the Jews are a brood of vipers, haters of goodness…”
  • Jerome (AD 347-407) describes the Jews as “serpents, wearing the image of Judas, their psalms and prayers are the braying of donkeys.”
  • Augustine (354-430 AD) — Asserted that the Jews deserved death but were destined to wander the earth to witness the victory of the Church over the synagogue.
  • During the Middle Ages, Passion plays abounded and they were used to cultivate hatred toward the Jewish people.
  • In 1478, Pope Sixtus IV granted the monarchs of Spain, Ferdinand and Isabella, the right to establish a special inquisition in Spain to deal with baptized Jews who were suspected of remaining faithful to Judaism. Thousands were burned at the stake by order of the Spanish Inquisition.
  • In 1492, King Ferdinand decided that all Spanish Jews should be banned from Spain. It was feared that Jews were a danger to Christianity. Approximately 150,000 Jews were forced to leave Spain.

Commonwealth of Israel theology differs from dispensationalism and supersessionism, or replacement theology, because it teaches that all the promises to Israel still stand, and Jesus made a way to unite the gentiles and Jews as “one new man”. It is the prophecy of the two sticks being held in God’s hand representing the house of Israel and the house of Judah. The house of Israel, called Ephraim or the northern kingdom, was dispersed into the gentile nations. Jesus brought them back, formerly not a people, but now “the sons of the living God”.

Here is a chart from https://www.commonwealthofisrael.org/p/blog-page_81.html that summarizes these belief systems and their relationship to Biblical Israel.

COMPARISON OF THREE MAIN THEOLOGIES RE: ISRAEL & THE CHURCH

These are all accepted systems of theology in Christianity. I left dispensational theology and now favor Commonwealth of Israel theology. Does this mean I am in a cult? I don’t think so. I simply took the time to try to understand the different belief systems in Christianity. I always had a hard time reconciling dispensationalism theology whenever I studied the Bible. Sadly, not many people make the effort to understand their faith, belief systems, church history and inherited traditions. They simply accept whatever system they were raised in, or leave Christianity all together due to not being able to intellectually bare all of the inconsistencies in the different theological systems. Some simply “believe in Jeeesus”, as if he is their fairy godmother.

How do we label cults as compared to legitimate doctrine? It is complicated because everyone thinks their way is the only way. Some Protestants do not believe Catholics are saved and some Catholics think that their way is the one that is correct. There are Pentecostals who think they are the only people “going to heaven”, then there are Anglicans that believe everyone will “go to heaven”. Others do not believe anyone goes to heaven because in Revelation God makes a new heaven and earth and appears to bring new Jerusalem down to the new Earth.

Here are some dispensational themed memes people share on X.

One of the doctrines that will put someone in the cult container is soul sleep. This is simply the belief that when we die we “rest in peace” until the resurrection. This is different than the more common belief that has some non-material part of our body fly up to heaven “to be with Jesus”, only to have to somehow reunite with their resurrected body at the resurrection.

Another doctrine assigned to cults is that of annihilation. This is the belief that mortals will be “annihilated” at the second resurrection instead of being tormented eternally in fire with the immortal demons and Satan.

The “trinity” doctrine is something one must uphold since the sixth century in order to not earn the cult label. I have a book called Encyclopedia of Cults and New Religions that labels the United Pentecostals as a cult because they supposedly do not believe in the trinity correctly.

Much of cult designations are subjective and soon everyone who believes differently becomes a cult member that must be feared. What if we did the hard work of understanding the different belief systems, discussing them in a civil manner and try to understand with the help of the Holy Spirit? Christians often are afraid to talk to someone who may believe differently for fear of being converted themselves. This simply means they are not sure of their faith enough to not be lured away.

God told Israel He would send false teachers as a test to see if the people cared enough about Him to do the work to be able to distinguish a false teacher. The definition of a false teacher to God was clear.

Deuteronomy 13:1–4 (LEB): “If a prophet stands up in your midst or a dreamer of dreams and he gives to you a sign or wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes about that he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods (those whom you have not known), and let us serve them,’ you must not listen to the words of that prophet or to that dreamer, for Yahweh your God is testing you to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all of your heart and with all of your inner self. You shall go after Yahweh your God, and him you shall revere, and his commandment you shall keep, and to his voice you shall listen, and him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast.

Paul was not afraid of speaking to people with different belief systems and discussing them. Paul had the knowledge of scripture from being a Pharisee and an encounter with Jesus, an experience that emboldened him not to be afraid to talk to those in the pagan sex cults about his religion.

Acts 17:17–20 (LEB): 17 So he was discussing in the synagogue with the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there. 18 And even some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were conversing with him, and some were saying, “What does this babbler want to say?” But others said, “He appears to be a proclaimer of foreign deities,” because he was proclaiming the good news about Jesus and the resurrection. 19 And they took hold of him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we learn what is this new teaching being proclaimed by you? 20 For you are bringing some astonishing things to our ears. Therefore we want to know what these things mean.”

Paul would go to the synagogues and discuss Jesus and also talk about Jesus to Stoic philosophers, yet some Christians today fear discussing Jesus with those who believe the law of God is holy and good, such as people who believe Commonwealth of Israel theology. What about the Jehovah Witnesses? Should we fear them? That is what I was taught, however, I have come to believe we need to discuss our beliefs with them as Paul reasoned in the synagogues.

My family attended a Hanukkah special service last December at the local synagogue. I did this not because I want to convert to Judaism, but because it is what the Messiah did. If Paul could reason in the synagogues, why can’t I? Perhaps I could make a difference. Paul went to the synagogues after he had his “coming to Jesus” moment. He never went into a pagan temples.

If one studies historical Christianity, it is clear that Christianity today does not look anything like that of Christianity of the first century. Were they in error or are we? Who is allowed to decide? My litmus test is Deuteronomy 13. If someone is teaching that the ways of the Creator God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are wrong, then I will not follow their teaching. If someone denies that Jesus is the Messiah sent by God to save mankind, I will not listen to them either.

Earthly Kingdom by Force or Spiritual Kingdom by God? Dispensationalism and Zionism.

Jesus replied, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews. But now my kingdom is not from here.”

John 18:36 (LEB)

Yeshua walked the earth in the first century at a time when Judea was controlled by Rome. There was a difference of opinion then, as now, as to how God was going to establish His kingdom. Was it going to be a military operation with a zealous leader who would defeat the Romans, or a miraculous, supernatural move of God where there would be a metaphysical change on earth?

Both dispensationalism theology and political Zionism are belief systems where the holy land is reclaimed by bullets and bombs or by some other political means. Dispensationalism theology teaches that the “Jews” will obtain an earthly kingdom and rebuild the temple of God. The “church” is somehow a separate people of God, and Jesus Christ will come rescue them in a secret rapture, while the “Jews” are fighting for their kingdom. There is a disagreement whether Jesus Christ will conduct this secret rapture before the temple is built or after, at a time when an antichrist figure will defile the temple. This is what they call “pre-trib”, “mid-trib” and “post-trib” rapture theories. This is a great over simplification, but it is the nuts and bolts of this theology system.

Zionism works hand in hand with the evangelical dispensational belief system because it is about the Jews returning to the holy land. Theodor Herzl wrote the following in his book, A Jewish State, which he wrote in 1898!

Should the powers declare themselves willing to admit our sovereignty over a neutral piece of land, then the Society will enter into negotiations for the possession of this land. Here two territories come under consideration, Palestine and Argentina. In both countries important experiments in colonization have been made, though on the mistaken principle of a gradual infiltration of Jews. An infiltration is bound to end in disaster. It continues till the inevitable moment when the native population feels itself threatened, and forces the government to stop the further influx of Jews. Immigration is consequently futile unless based on an assured supremacy.

If one ever wonders why protestants and evangelical Christians are so obsessed with the nation state of Israel formed in the land of Palestine in 1948, we need not to look any further than dispensationalism theology that makes this “Jewish state” a fulfillment of their view of prophecy. It also fits the plan of early Zionists such as Theodor Herzl. The two fit together like two peas in a pod.

The interesting aspect of both philosophies is that they are void of the workings of God and rely completely on political means to obtain their results. It is as if God has His hands tied and needs to work with United Nations and Arab states to fulfill prophecy. Here is another quote from Herzl’s book, A Jewish State.

“The Society will be the new Moses of the Jews. The undertaking of that great and ancient gestor of the Jews in primitive days bears much the same relation to ours that an old opera bears to a modern one. We are playing the same melody with many more violins, flutes, harps violinchellos, and bass-viols: with electric light, decorations, choirs, beautiful costumes, and with the first singers of their day.”

The problem with Herzl’s vision and Zionism is that Moses was lead by God. It’s as if the Exodus was a primitive event without the hand of God involved at all.

Exodus 3:10–12 (LEB): 10 And now come, and I will send you to Pharaoh, and you must bring my people, the Israelites, out from Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the Israelites out from Egypt?” 12 And he said, “Because I am with you, and this will be the sign for you that I myself have sent you: When you bring the people out from Egypt, you will serve God on this mountain.”

On the evangelical side, they completely ignore the prophecies that show a metaphysical change in the world when the Messiah returns to gather his people. Many think this happened in 1948 with the creation of the political state of Israel; however, that place does not describe anything close to the kingdom of God described in the prophets.

Isaiah 11:1–10 (LEB)

11 And a shoot will come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from its roots will bear fruit. And the spirit of Yahweh shall rest on him—a spirit of wisdom and understanding, a spirit of counsel and might, a spirit of knowledge and the fear of Yahweh. And his breath is in the fear of Yahweh. And he shall judge not by his eyesight, and he shall rebuke not by what he hears with his ears. But he shall judge the poor with righteousness, and he shall decide for the needy of the earth with rectitude. And he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and he shall kill the wicked person with the breath of his lips. And righteousness shall be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his loins. And a wolf shall stay with a lamb, and a leopard shall lie down with a kid, and a calf and a lion and a fatling together as a small boy leads them. And a cow and a bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together. And a lion shall eat straw like the cattle. And an infant shall play over a serpent’s hole, and a toddler shall put his hand on a viper’s hole. They will not injure and they will not destroy on all of my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea. 10 And this shall happen on that day: the nations shall inquire of the root of Jesse, which shall be standing as a signal to the peoples, and his resting place shall be glorious.

This prophecy in Isaiah is void of bombs, bullets, navies and armies. The wicked will perish at the breath of Messiah’s lips. More interesting is how Yeshua describes the kingdom of God. Is this why dispensationlists will say that “the words in red are not for the church”? Meaning, Yeshua was not speaking to Christians, only Jews. Not all dispensationalists teach this, but there are many that do. They have to distance themselves from the Gospels and books like Revelation in order to make their theology work.

Revelation 19:15 (LEB): 15 And out of his mouth came a sharp sword, so that with it he could strike the nations. And he will shepherd them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the wine of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful.

Yeshua spent a lot of time describing the kingdom of God, and he was not describing a scenario where he would over throw Rome and retake the land. It was always a grander scale and appears to be after the resurrection of the dead, yet also here and now, if we choose to partake.

Luke 13:23–30 (LEB): 23 And someone said to him, “Lord, are there only a few who are saved?” And he said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able to, 25 when once the master of the house has gotten up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ And he will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from!’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets!’ 27 And he will reply, saying to you, ‘I do not know where you are from! Go away from me, all you evildoers!’ 28 In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves thrown outside! 29 And they will come from east and west, and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God. 30 And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”

Our job as followers of Yeshua is to walk like he walked, following his Father’s instructions, and to watch for the signs of his coming, not being deceived by those claiming to represent God, yet showing no indication that they are following the ways of God.

The Meek Will Inherit the Earth

 Blessed are the meek,
because they will inherit the earth.

Matthew 5:5 (LEB)

The world can be an unfriendly and intimidating place. We have forgotten how to maintain a simple life, and have embraced a society that cries for more war, is quick to get angry, and has completely mixed religion with politics to a point where they are nearly inseparable. We need a reset that has nothing to do with what world leaders would have us believe. Yeshua gave us insight into world events and who will live a meaningful life apart from the worldly chaos.

Matthew 5:3–12 (LEB): “Blessed are the poor in spirit, because theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the ones who mourn, because they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, because they will inherit the earth. Blessed are the ones who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they will be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, because they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, because they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, because theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things against you, lying on account of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you.

“Meek” is the English word used for Strong’s G4558, and the New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology has the following to say about this Greek word:

πραΰς G4558 (praÿs), gentle, humble, considerate, meek; πραΰτης G4559 (praÿtēs), gentleness, humility, considerateness, meekness; πραϋπαθία G4557 (praÿpathia), gentleness; ἐπιεικής G2117 (epieikēs), mild, yielding, gentle, kind, forbearing; ἐπιείκεια G2116 (epieikeia), mildness, forbearance, gentleness, graciousness.

CL praÿs (from Homer on) is etymologically linked with the Gothic frÿon to love, frionds, friend, and means friendly, mild, gentle. The noun praÿtēs (from Thuc. on) and praÿpathia, derived from praÿpatheia, means gentle, mild friendliness. The virtually synonymous epieikēs, and the noun epieikeia are derived either from eikos, becoming, decent, or from eikō, to yield, give way, and mean (from Homer on) the proper way of life, or (from Thuc. on) forbearance, indulgence, mildness.
Words from the praÿs group are used of things (e.g. mild words, soothing medicine, actions and feelings), animals (tame) and people (benevolent). It is a quality shown by friends, while stern harshness may be expected from an enemy.

W. Bauder, “Humility, Meekness,” ed. Lothar Coenen, Erich Beyreuther, and Hans Bietenhard, New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing House, 1986), 256–257.

I have difficulty understanding the thought process of Christians who vehemently support leaders, nations or movements that are acting contrary to the words of Yeshua. We are to be peace makers, friendly, humble, and thirst for righteousness. Righteousness is defined for us in Scripture.

Deuteronomy 6:25 (LEB): 25And it shall be righteousness for us if we diligently observe and do all of this commandment before Yahweh our God, as he has commanded us.’

Yeshua told his followers that if they lived by the sword they would die by the sword. This means if we are warmongers who seek revenge by bombing other nations and acting inhumanely, then we should expect to get bombed and be treated inhumanely.

Matthew 26:52 (LEB): 52 Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place! For all who take up the sword will die by the sword.

The idea of one’s own actions coming back on their own head is a concept from the Old Testament. It is likely where the concept of “Karma” was derived.

Obadiah 15 (LEB): 15 “For the day of Yahweh is near against all the nations! Just as you have done, it will be done to you. Your deeds will return on your own head.

Yeshua repeats the same concept. God’s justice is always presented with balanced scales.

Matthew 7:1–2 (LEB): 7 “Do not judge, so that you will not be judged. For by what judgment you judge, you will be judged, and by what measure you measure out, it will be measured out to you.

NBC reported, that according to the Council of Foreign Relations, the US dropped 26,171 bombs on seven nations in 2016. These nations were Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria and Somalia. More recently, Israel has been dropping an amount of bombs equal to that of two nuclear bombs in Gaza according to an article on the euromedmonitor.org website. Here is what the article reported:

“Geneva – Israel has dropped more than 25,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip since the start of its large-scale war on 7 October, equivalent to two nuclear bombs, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said in a press release issued today.

According to the Geneva-based human rights organization, the Israeli army has admitted to bombing over 12,000 targets in the Gaza Strip, with a record tally of bombs exceeding 10 kilograms of explosives per individual. Euro-Med Monitor highlighted that the weight of the nuclear bombs dropped by the United States on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan at the end of World War II in August 1945 was estimated at about 15,000 tons of explosives.”

Yemen has joined the war aligning with Palestine, and it looks like it is expanding to Lebanon. Algeria is threatening to close the straight of Gibraltar. It is just as devastating to human life in the Ukraine theatre or war, and it looks like the wars are ramping up more than there is any hope of a peaceful solution as the NATO nations push back against Russian aggression, or Russia pushes back against NATO aggression. It is all perspective based on what one believes to be truth.

Matthew 5:43–46 (LEB): 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 in order that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven, because he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not the tax collectors also do the same?

Many of these wars are justified through some type of religious framework. People fighting wars throughout history have usually had a deity fighting on their side. Christians, Jews and Muslims are no different; however, does the one true God of Israel condone all these wars we see today?

Matthew 26:53 (LEB): 53 Or do you think that I cannot call upon my Father, and he would put at my disposal at once more than twelve legions of angels?

Ancient Israel did not fight battles by might and force. It was the supernatural workings of the Father that gave them prosperity, and it was only when they were obedient to His commandments.

Psalm 34:11–17 (LEB): 11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of Yahweh. 12 Who is the man who desires life, who loves many days in order to see good? 13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. 14 Turn from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it. 15 The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous, and his ears toward their cry for help. 16 The face of Yahweh is against evildoers, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. 17 They cry out and Yahweh hears and delivers them from all of their troubles.

This is how the world will go from a complete disaster to a peaceful place where the resurrected King David’s descendant, Yeshua, will rule the nations.

Revelation 19:11–15 (LEB): 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and the one seated on it was called “Faithful” and “True,” and with justice he judges and makes war. 12 Now his eyes were a flame of fire, and on his head were many royal headbands having a name written that no one except he himself knows. 13 And he was dressed in an outer garment dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God. 14 And the armies that are in heaven, dressed in clean, white fine linen, were following him on white horses. 15 And out of his mouth came a sharp sword, so that with it he could strike the nations. And he will shepherd them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the wine of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful.

There will be a supernatural event that will end the wars and create a peaceful existence where Yeshua is ruling the nations. It will not be ushered in by the actions of nations bombing other nations into oblivion, despite how righteous or justified they claim to be.

Isaiah 2:4 (LEB): He shall judge between the nations and he shall arbitrate for many peoples. They shall beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks. A nation shall not lift up a sword against a nation, and they shall not learn war again.

No earthly alliance of armies will make this happen. Our only job as followers of Yeshua is to do what he said. He told us to do the Father’s will which is following His instructions for a peaceful, meaningful life on earth. Be meek, peaceful and thirst for righteousness, resisting picking sides in these earthly battles designed to divide believers.

Observing Times

But at that time when you did not know God, you were enslaved to the things which by nature are not gods. But now, because you have come to know God, or rather have come to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental spirits? Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again? You carefully observe days and months and seasons and years. I am afraid for you, lest perhaps I have labored for you in vain!

Galatians 4:8–11 (LEB)

Many people in Christianity use Paul’s writings to preach against the commandments of God. When it comes to keeping the Sabbath, Passover or Pentecost, denominations of Christianity will quote Paul’s letter to the Galatians, claiming he is speaking out about Sabbaths and feast days, when he is really speaking about “times” observed by the false religions of the nations.

Galatians 4:8–11 (KJV 1900): Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? 10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. 11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

Commentary after commentary will claim this is speaking about the Sabbaths and feast days of God. They will reason that the Sabbaths and feast days God instituted were “weak and beggarly elements”. I completely disagree. For one, the people of Galatia were not formerly observing God’s Sabbaths and feast days. They were serving Greek deities and religious rites. We have this account in Acts where Paul is in Lystra, a city of the province of Galatia and they think he is the Greek god Hermes. This is the type of behaviour that Paul is lamenting about, hoping his efforts had not been in vain. Why do people think this is about these Greek Zeus worshippers keeping the Sabbath of the one true God? It makes no sense.

Acts 14:8–13 (LEB): And in Lystra a certain man was sitting powerless in his feet, lame from birth, who had never walked. This man listened while Paul was speaking. Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be healed, 10 said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” And he leaped up and began walking. 11 And when the crowds saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices in the Lycaonian language, saying, “The gods have become like men and have come down to us!” 12 And they began calling Barnabas Zeus and Paul Hermes, because he was the principal speaker. 13 And the priest of the temple of Zeus that was just outside the city brought bulls and garlands to the gates and was wanting to offer sacrifice, along with the crowds.

The Galatians were not returning to the one true God’s holy days as modern scholars like to claim. They were steeped in the “beggarly elements”, being vain philosophies, superstitions and the “times” of the pagan deities.

Paul also kept the feasts and Sabbaths of God, so why would he be condemning the Galatians for doing the same? Paul wanted to be in Jerusalem for the feast of Shavuot, called Pentecost from the Greek language.

Acts 20:16 (LEB): 16 For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus so that he would not be having to spend time in Asia. For he was hurrying if it could be possible for him to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

How does Paul tell us to keep the feasts? Does he tell us to put groves of Christmas trees on the altars of our churches and to paint eggs at Easter to honour Jesus? No, these are actually the weak and beggarly elements used by the religions to whom Paul was preaching. They didn’t call it a “Christmas tree” or “Easter egg” in the first century. We have adopted the symbols of these religions and foolishly incorporated them into Christianity over hundreds of years. These are items that are “polluted by idols”, and the first things the early leaders said we need to abandon.

Acts 15:19–21 (LEB): 19 Therefore I conclude we should not cause difficulty for those from among the Gentiles who turn to God, 20 but we should write a letter to them to abstain from the pollution of idols and from sexual immorality and from what has been strangled and from blood. 21 For Moses has those who proclaim him in every city from ancient generations, because he is read aloud in the synagogues on every Sabbath.”

What is left of Christmas celebrations if we take away the evergreen trees, the lights and the presents? It is a well known fact by Christians, atheists, Satanists and modern Pagans that Jesus was not born on December 25th, so what are we really celebrating that day? The answer is we are celebrating one of the sacred days of sun god worship popular in every culture from antiquity. These are what the symbols we use represent, and the time of the winter solstice is the birthday of the sun god going all the way back to 2000 BCE. “You carefully observe days and months and seasons and years”.

Paul told us to observe the feasts in light of the Messiah. The feasts of God are still important, and point to Jesus. Christianity has returned to the weak and beggarly elements just as in Galatia. Paul warned Galatia, and instead of heeding Paul’s warning, the practices of the pagan religions were adopted by the church wholeheartedly.

1 Corinthians 5:7–8 (LEB): Clean out the old leaven in order that you may be a new batch of dough, just as you are unleavened. For Christ our Passover has been sacrificed. So then, let us celebrate the feast, not with the old leaven or with the leaven of wickedness and sinfulness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Is Paul referring to the feast of Christmas or Easter when he says, “So then, let us celebrate the feast, not with the old leaven or with the leaven of wickedness and sinfulness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.“? No, he is referring to Passover. We must celebrate in “truth”. There is no truth in the “beggarly elements”.

The Mishna is the oral instructions in Judaism handed down and preserved by having it written for future generations. I am only using this for historical purposes to show what would have been normal practices in the first century when Jesus and the apostles were engaged in their ministries.

And these are the festivals of the gentiles: the Calends, 2 the Saturnalia, 3 the commemoration of empire, 4 the anniversaries of kings, and the day,· of [their] birth and the day of (their] death.

These festivals, times and days are what Paul is talking to the Galatians about returning to celebrating, and these are the same sort of times the church is still celebrating today only with “Jesus flavouring” to lull the people into thinking they are doing something great for God by celebrating the same old worldly festivals that were well known to the first century Christians. Continuing in the Mishna:

These things it is forbidden to sell to the gentiles :7 fir-cones, white figs with their stalks, frankincense, or a white cock. R. Judah says: One may sell a gentile a white cock among other cocks, or, if it is by itself, cut off its spur and sell it to him, because they do not sacrifice to an idol what is defective. All other things, if [any idolatrous use is] not specified, are permitted to be sold; but if (any idolatrous use is] specified, they are forbidden. R. Meir says: It is forbidden also to sell to gentiles fine dates, or Hazab or Nicolaus dates.

Christmas is nothing more than a continuation of the Roman Saturnalia and Scandinavian Yule celebrations rolled into the false birthday celebration of Jesus. It is all fake and an abomination to God. When the church leaders give their list of instructions to new believers that include abstaining from things polluted by idols, this is in line with the list in the Mishna that includes fir cones. I find it interesting that two thousand years later we are still selling and buying fir cones for Saturnalia and Yule, calling it “Christmas” to somehow legitimize the festival as a Christian holiday.

I am not judging the people that want to celebrate these festivals at all. We shouldn’t; however, pretend that they have anything to do with Jesus. This is where the problem lies. We are mixing the gods of the world with the one true God, and He says not to do this.

Ezekiel 22:26–28 (LEB): 26 Its priests treat my law violently, and they profane my holy objects; they do not distinguish between a holy object and what is unholy, or between the clean and the unclean. They do not teach the difference, and they hide their eyes from my Sabbaths, and so I am profaned in the midst of them. 27 Its officials are like wolves tearing prey in its midst, to pour out blood, to destroy people, to make dishonest gain. 28 And for them its prophets plaster whitewash; they are seeing falseness and are practicing divination for them by lying, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh,’ and Yahweh has not spoken.

The following is from the website https://en.subalternosblog.com/post/the-kalends-of-january-popular-culture-in-late-antiquity-1, a blog written by Lucy Grig, regarding the festival of Calends:

“Across this empire, in cities and towns and even in the countryside, bishops complained about the behaviour of their flocks at this time. What exactly were they complaining about? Much of the behaviour associated with the Kalends was precisely what we would expect from any festive revelry: eating, drinking, singing, dancing and carousing were all involved, as we would expect. Ritual practices clearly associated with the idea of the new year were attacked as ‘superstitious’ by clerics: for instance, in the town and countryside alike, people laid out food on tables aiming to secure abundance the year ahead. They also exchanged gifts known as strenae– ‘good luck presents’ (which can be compared with the sigillaria of Saturnalia), ranging from fruit decorated with tinsel to gold coins. These gifts were exchanged – along with greetings, known as vota– as part of door to door visits, again, in both town and country. It is these visits which contain the most intriguing aspects of the festival from the point of view of ancient popular culture.”

We have preserved the festivals of ancient sun god worshippers very well in Christianity. By using all these symbols of the sun gods that have existed under different names since Babylon to celebrate “Jesus’ birthday”, we are essentially projecting that Jesus is actually the sun god Tammuz. The following is from the Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible.

Tammuz. Chief Sumerian deity whose name derived from the Sumerian dumuzi. He is the god of fertility, of vegetation and agriculture, of death and resurrection, and the patron of shepherds. The son and consort of Ashtar (Inanna), Tammuz represented the annual vegetation cycle of death during the heat of summer and the rebirth of life with the coming of the fall and spring rains, as mythically recounted in the Akkadian poem, “Inanna’s Descent into the Netherworld.” This rejuvenation of life and defeat of death was annually celebrated during the Babylonian New Year Festival. In the OT, the prophet Ezekiel sees in a vision women weeping for Tammuz at the north gate of the temple, descriptive of coming desecrations of the Lord’s house (8:14).

Walter A. Elwell and Barry J. Beitzel, “Tammuz,” Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Book House, 1988), 2035.

We shouldn’t want to confuse the son of the Creator God, Jesus the Christ, Iesous Christos in Greek, or in Hebrew, Yeshua the Messiah, with false gods of the world. Pay attention to Paul when he asks us, “how can you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental spirits? Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again? “

Overtaken

The alien that is in your midst shall ascend over you, higher and higher, but you shall go down lower and lower. He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, but you shall be the tail.

Deuteronomy 28:43–44 (LEB)

The Bible has been fractured today by the thousands of denominations in Christianity. People in these sects often do not place any importance on the Creator God of the Old Testament and what He told His chosen people, Israel. The attitude today in many denominations of Christianity appears to purposely dismiss what the Creator revealed about Himself and focus on poor interpretations of the letters Paul wrote. Of course I am not diminishing Paul’s writings; however, they must be viewed in light of what the Father and Messiah Yeshua said as well. As Paul stated in his letter to Timothy, 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (LEB): 16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, 17 in order that the person of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

We are able to glean understanding from what the Father showed Israel through example. God told Israel that if they obeyed His commandments they would prosper, and if not, they would fail miserably. These commandments were not limited to Israel. Sure, the sacrificial system was something unique to Israel, but God wanted His ways shown to the world so everyone could benefit.

Deuteronomy 4:5–8 (LEB): See, I now teach you rules and regulations just as Yahweh my God has commanded me, to observe them just so in the midst of the land where you are going, to take possession of it. And you must observe them diligently, for that is your wisdom and your insight before the eyes of the people, who will hear all of these rules, and they will say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and discerning people.’ For what great nation has for it a god near to it as Yahweh our God, whenever we call upon him? And what other great nation has for it just rules and regulations just like this whole law that I am setting before you today?

We can apply these concepts to any person or any nation. God shared the secrets of the universe to Israel and they are there for us to contemplate and understand. This is the eternal covenant that was extended to the world through Yeshua, and it was planned from the beginning.

A nation can expect the promise of the curses if that nation completely turns its back on the eternal covenant, that is the “ten commandments”, and oppresses the alien living among them.

Deuteronomy 27:19 (LEB): 19 ‘Cursed be the one who deprives the alien, the orphan, and the widow of justice.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Anyone depriving a foreigner will be cursed according to these words. I believe this can apply to a nation, a region or an individual. Moreover, when we allow murders, stealing and sexual immorality to abound, how much more should we expect the curses? One of those curses is that the foreigners in the land will rise up higher than the native born.

Deuteronomy 28:40–45 (LEB): 40 There shall be olive trees for you in all of your territory, but you shall not anoint yourself, for your olives shall drop off. 41You shall bear sons and daughters, but they shall not be yours, for they shall go into captivity. 42 The cricket shall take possession of all your trees and the fruit of your ground. 43 The alien that is in your midst shall ascend over you, higher and higher, but you shall go down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, but you shall be the tail. 45 “And all of these curses shall come over you, and they shall pursue you, and they shall overtake you until you are destroyed, because you did not listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, by observing his commandments and his statutes that he commanded you.

We can see through these verses that listening to God is equal to observing His commandments. Our walk with God is about observing His commandments. The only reason we can even be in covenant with God and keep His commandments is due to the fact that He sent His son, Yeshua, to save us. This is His grace. Grace is giving us salvation and the ability to please God through His ways and through His Spirit.

John 14:21 (LEB): 21 The one who has my commandments and keeps them—that one is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him.”

When we reject the commandments, we are rejecting the Messiah and God. It is like the saying, “you had one job”. The Father gave us all the secrets of a successful life on earth, His Son gave us the ability to believe and live according to the covenant, and all we have to do is believe it is true. If we believe it is true, then we will want to do it.

If we don’t do as God commanded, the alien will rise up and take our place according to the verses in Deuteronomy we looked at earlier. What happens if we continue to live contrary to His commandments?

Leviticus 18:24–28 (LEB): 24 “ ‘You must not make yourself unclean in any of these things, because the nations whom I am driving out from your presence were made unclean by all of these. 25 So the land became unclean, and I have brought the punishment of its guilt upon it, and the land has vomited out its inhabitants. 26 But you (neither the native nor the alien who is dwelling in your midst) shall keep my statutes and my regulations, and you shall not practice any of these detestable things 27 (because the people of the land, who were before you, did all these detestable things, so the land became unclean), 28 so that the land will not vomit you out when you make it unclean just as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

The specific detestable things spoken about preceding these verse are all about sexual immorality. There is a specific list that is given detailing exactly what God means. The people in the land before Israel did these things and the land vomited them out. Israel is promised that if they do these things the land will vomit them out as well. We see the principle of one law for the foreigner and Israel clearly here. Those that think God changed and does not hold people accountable to His laws today are wrong. The land vomited out nations for doing the following:

Leviticus 18:6–23 (LEB): “ ‘None of you shall approach anyone who is his close relative to expose nakedness; I am Yahweh. You must not expose your father’s nakedness or your mother’s nakedness—she is your mother; you must not expose her nakedness. You must not expose the nakedness of your father’s wife—it is your father’s nakedness. As for your sister’s nakedness, whether your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether born at home or born abroad, you must not expose their nakedness. 10 As for the nakedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, you must not expose their nakedness, because they are your nakedness. 11 As for the nakedness of the daughter of your father’s wife, she is your sister, a relative of your father; you must not expose her nakedness. 12 You must not expose the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is your father’s close relative. 13 You must not expose the nakedness of your mother’s sister, because she is your mother’s close relative. 14 You must not expose the nakedness of your father’s brother; you must not have sex with his wife—she is your aunt. 15 You must not expose your daughter-in-law’s nakedness; she is your son’s wife; you must not expose her nakedness. 16 You must not expose the nakedness of your brother’s wife; she is your brother’s nakedness. 17 You must not expose the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, or her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter; you must not take her as wife to expose her nakedness; they are close relatives—that is wickedness. 18 And you must not take as wife a woman with her sister, to be a rival-wife, to expose her nakedness before her during her life. 19 “ ‘And you must not have sex with a woman to expose her nakedness during her menstrual uncleanness. 20 And you must not have sex with your fellow citizen’s wife, becoming unclean with her. 21 “ ‘And you shall not give any of your offspring in order to sacrifice them to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God; I am Yahweh. 22 And you shall not lie with a male as lying with a woman; that is a detestable thing. 23 And you shall not have sexual relations with any animal, becoming unclean with it; and a woman shall not stand before an animal to copulate with it—that is a perversion.

He continued with more of the ten commandment concepts.

Leviticus 19:1–4 (LEB): 19 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to all the community of the Israelites, and say to them, ‘You must be holy, because I, Yahweh your God, am holy. Each of you must revere your mother and your father, and you must keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God. You must not turn to idols, and you must not make for yourselves gods of cast metal; I am Yahweh your God.

My only experience is western civilization, and it appears that we have been taunting God by seeing how far we can go with severely breaking all of these commandments.

Leviticus 18:5 (LEB): And you shall observe my statutes and my regulations by which the person doing them shall live; I am Yahweh.

We are overdue for “the alien to ascend higher”, and being vomited out of the land. Consider these things when looking at the western nations taunting the rest of the world to the brink of war. Consider how fractured the western countries are and how well the population could stand up against a foreign invader. The writing is on the wall for what our future in the west will be. Repent now while there is still time.

The Regathering

Isaiah 35:8 (LEB)

Those who hold to the theology of dispensationalism, most evangelicals, and many others, view the current state of Israel as the prophesied regathering of Israel where they receive the promises given by God. Many of these people also believe that because this prophesy is supposedly fulfilled in our generation, that the so called rapture of the church must be imminent. There are problems with these ideas, however. For one, the following has not happened yet.

Isaiah 11:11–13 (LEB): 11 And this shall happen on that day: The Lord will again extend his hand a second time to acquire the remnant of his people that is left, from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the coastlands of the sea, 12 and he will raise a signal for the nations. And he will gather the outcasts of Israel, and he will gather the scattered ones of Judah together from the four corners of the earth. 13 And the jealousy of Ephraim shall depart, and the enemies of Judah shall be cut off. Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not be an enemy of Ephraim.

Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not be an enemy of Ephraim.” This statement alone should leave dispensationalists scratching their heads. This is the parable of the prodigal son where the older brother is Judah and the younger brother, who returned from sin, is Ephraim. There is going to be a time when God regathers His people to the land where the Messiah will rule and all the tribes will coexist in peace.

There are some people that believe this happened in the first century when Yeshua walked the Earth. These people believe that on the day of Pentecost there were a remnant from all the tribes present when three thousand were saved.

Acts 2:4–12 (LEB): And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit gave them ability to speak out. Now there were Jews residing in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the crowd gathered and was in confusion, because each one was hearing them speaking in his own language. And they were astounded and astonished, saying, “Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how do we hear, each one of us, in our own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and those residing in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya toward Cyrene, and the Romans who were in town, 11 both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own languages the great deeds of God!” 12 And all were amazed and greatly perplexed, saying to one another, “What can this mean?”

There is merit to this theory because many of the same places that these people were from, witnessing the pouring out of the Spirit, are listed in the Old Testament prophesies. I do not think that it is the climatic ending of the Messiah gathering His people to the land though. The prophecies are too many in number, and only partially fulfilled.

Isaiah 25:6–9 (LEB): And on this mountain Yahweh of hosts will make for all peoples a rich feast, a feast of aged wines, fat filled with marrow, filtered aged wine. And on this mountain he will destroy the face of the shroud, the shroud over all peoples, and the woven covering over all nations. He will destroy death forever, and the Lord Yahweh will wipe off the tears from all faces, and he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth, for Yahweh has spoken. And one will say, on that day, “Look! This is our God! We have waited for him and he saved us! This is Yahweh; we waited for him! Let us be glad, and let us rejoice in his salvation.”

There are many prophesies in the Old Testament the average church goer never considers, or even hears, and they all have language that does not describe what we are witnessing today in the land. The following verses describe what some have labelled as the “second exodus”. Whatever this event is, we can be confident that it is in the future.

Jeremiah 16:14–16 (LEB): 14 Therefore look, days are coming,’ declares Yahweh, ‘and it will no longer be said, “As Yahweh lives, who led up the Israelites from the land of Egypt,” 15 but only “As Yahweh lives, who led up the Israelites from the land of the north, and from all the lands where he had driven them,” for I will bring them back to their ground that I gave to their ancestors. 16 Look, I am sending for many fishermen,’ declares Yahweh, ‘and they will fish them out, and afterwards I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and from the clefts of the cliffs.

When Yeshua came in the first century he told his disciples he was making them “fishers of men”. Is this what he meant? He told them to go out and find the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Matthew 15:24 (LEB): 24 But he answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Yeshua also spoke of a gathering of his people. Yeshua is the Messiah and he is going to gather his people, Israel. This is not replacement theology. These are His people, the descendants of Abraham. They must be following the one, true God though. There is no separate gentile church with different prophesies as dispensationlists claim. We must join ourselves to the Messiah if we want to be part of this event. He is the one holding the stick in his hand that will contain both the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Paul is speaking to the gentiles in the following verses.

Romans 11:17–21 (LEB): 17 Now if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although you were a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them and became a sharer of the root of the olive tree’s richness, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you boast against them, you do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off in order that I could be grafted in.” 20 Well said! They were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand firm because of faith. Do not think arrogant thoughts, but be afraid. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.

Those from the nations must plug into the green olive tree, which is rooted in Messiah. This means that we must do the opposite that the church has done for the last 1800 years, trying to create its own tree by forsaking God’s laws and persecuting the Jewish people. There is only one God and one Messiah who will gather the house of Israel and the house of Judah. We must be grafted in.

Matthew 24:31 (LEB): 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect together from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other end of it.

I believe this is the gathering spoken about all throughout the prophets. Do people really believe the following verses are speaking about an earthy kingdom?

Psalm 48:1–14 (LEB): Yahweh is great and very worthy of praise in the city of our God, in his holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great king. God is in her citadels; he is known as a high stronghold. For see, the kings assembled; they advanced together. They themselves saw it, so they were astonished. They were terrified; they ran off. Trembling seized them there—pain as of a woman in labor. With an east wind you shatter the ships of Tarshish. As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of Yahweh of hosts, in the city of our God. God will establish her forever. Selah We have pondered your loyal love, O God, in the midst of your temple. 10 As is your name, O God, so is your praise to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is full of righteousness. 11 Let Mount Zion rejoice; let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments. 12 Walk about Zion and circle it; count her towers. 13 Consider well her ramparts. Go through her citadels so that you can tell the next generation 14 that this is God, our God forever and ever. He himself will guide us until death.

We see similar language in the book of Revelation. The birds are going to eat the flesh of the rebellious. This is not an earthly battle, although it will happen on earth. The nations on earth are going to be raging and fighting, then all of a sudden, they will see God and His armies, turn to fight them, and realize it is over.

Revelation 19:17–21 (LEB): 17 And I saw one angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly directly overhead, “Come! Assemble for the great banquet of God, 18 in order that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of military tribunes, and the flesh of the powerful, and the flesh of horses and those seated on them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, and small and great!” 19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war with the one who is seated on the horse and with his army. 20 And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs before him, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who had worshiped his image. The two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur. 21 And the rest were killed by the sword of the one who is seated on the horse—the sword that comes out of his mouth—and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

We will finally be in a place where death is defeated and the city of God will be part of a new earth.

Revelation 21:1–4 (LEB): 21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea did not exist any longer. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling of God is with humanity, and he will take up residence with them, and they will be his people and God himself will be with them. And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any longer, and mourning or wailing or pain will not exist any longer. The former things have passed away.”

I heard many sermons over the course of 47 years, and it was seldom made clear the parallel scriptures in the prophets and the book of Revelation. These verses in Isaiah that we looked at earlier are speaking of the same events.

Isaiah 25:7–8 (LEB): And on this mountain he will destroy the face of the shroud, the shroud over all peoples, and the woven covering over all nations. He will destroy death forever, and the Lord Yahweh will wipe off the tears from all faces, and he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth, for Yahweh has spoken.

We can go all the way back to Deuteronomy and find the prophesy of the regathering. Israel would sin, be driven from the land, and in the latter days, they will return to His commandments, and God will rescue them.

Deuteronomy 4:27–31 (LEB): 27 And Yahweh will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations to where Yahweh will lead you. 28 And you will there serve gods made by human hands, of wood and stone, gods that cannot see and cannot hear and cannot eat and cannot smell. 29 But from there you shall seek Yahweh your God and will find him, if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. 30 In your distress when all these things have found you in the latter days, then you will return to Yahweh your God, and you will listen to his voice. 31 For Yahweh your God is a compassionate God; he will not abandon you, and he will not destroy you, and he will not forget the covenant of your ancestors that he swore to them.

Just as in the first gathering at Mount Sinai, there will be a mixed multitude in the second gathering. Moses brought out the first group, and the Messiah will be bringing out the second group. I believe this happens at the resurrection, but this is just speculation.

Exodus 12:37–38 (LEB): 37 And the Israelites set out from Rameses to Succoth; the men were about six hundred thousand on foot, besides dependents. 38 And also a mixed multitude went up with them and sheep and goats and cattle, very numerous livestock.

The mixed multitude were able to be “grafted in” through Moses, just as we can be grafted into the promises through the Messiah, Yeshua. Yeshua made the way, and our part is to do just as he said and believe the Father raised him from the dead. This is similar as doing what Moses said because it all comes from God. There are things we cannot do that God told Moses to do because we do not currently have the infrastructure in place, however, we can do what Yeshua told us to do, and we can apply many principles of the Torah to our daily lives today.

Numbers 15:15–16 (LEB): 15 For the assembly, there will be one decree for you and for the alien who dwells among you; it is an eternal decree for all your generations. You as well as the alien will be before Yahweh. 16 There will be one law and one stipulation for you and for the alien dwelling among you.’ ”

This “eternal decree” cannot be changed, and it did not change, even if a bunch of bishops, popes and pastors wanted it to be changed. Paul couldn’t change it, nor did he try. People have just twisted Paul’s words to make it appear this way. John the Baptist, Yeshua and the apostles all told us to repent. The dispensationlists will try to tell us that they were not talking to us, and that Paul is the only one we are to listen to in the gentile church. This is the downfall of Christianity. Paul is simply telling us that if we are in covenant with the Messiah, that is living in the Spirit, we will not do the things the law forbids. If we do, then we will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:18–21 (LEB): 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are sexual immorality, impurity, licentiousness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, factions, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, things which I am telling you in advance, just as I said before, that the ones who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

It is important to understand that there is no “church” outside of Israel. I am not speaking about a country in the Middle East. Currently that place is geopolitical in nature and secular. They are not directed daily by God to bomb various places as many evangelicals imagine. When the Messiah comes back we will either be found with him or rebelling against him. Those that are with him will be comforted.

Isaiah 66:14 (LEB): 14 And you shall see and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like the grass, and the hand of Yahweh shall make itself known to his servants, and he shall curse his enemies.

Those found doing works against him will be destroyed.

Isaiah 66:23–24 (LEB): 23 And this shall happen: From new moon to new moon and from Sabbath to Sabbath all flesh shall come to bow in worship before me,” says Yahweh. 24 “And they shall go out and look at the corpses of the people who have rebelled against me, for their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”

We have a similar message from Yeshua.

Luke 13:26–29 (LEB): 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets!’ 27 And he will reply, saying to you, ‘I do not know where you are from!

I want to do everything possible to be in the kingdom of God. It starts now and there are certain house rules to being in the kingdom. We have a standard given to us in scripture that Yeshua told us to follow. Repent and believe the gospel!

Wars and Confusion

And when the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison  and he will go out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to assemble them for battle, whose number is like the sand of the sea.  And they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the fortified camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and consumed them.

Revelation 20:7–9 (LEB)

The prophecy mill starts grinding at full speed every time we hear of wars and rumours of more wars in the world, especially when Israel is involved. In 2023 we now have secular people using biblical terms such as “Armageddon” and “Messiah”, and terms such as “Sampson option” referring to Israel’s nuclear program. The Prime Minister of the political state of Israel just claimed he was going to fulfill prophecies in Isaiah.

The following is from www.jordannews:

“We will fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah. You shall hear yet more destruction in your land. We will bring glory to your people. We will fight together, and we will win,” he said according to Khaberni.

The alleged prophecy Netanyahu referred to is linked to a figure named Isaiah who would be a leader, raise a banner for the nations, gather the dispersed of Israel, and assemble the outcasts of Judah from the four corners of the Earth. Some Jewish zealots have connected this prophecy with the return of the Messiah, which is believed to occur with the return of Jewish exiles to Palestine. They are eager to promote this prophecy to push for the return of Jews to Palestine as part of fulfilling God’s plan.

The article misinterprets the prophecy in the book of Isaiah because Isaiah is not speaking about himself. They get closer to the truth when they say “Jewish zealots have connected this prophecy to the Messiah”, but none of this is related to the current situation, as far as I am concerned. Leaders are playing on people’s emotions by using religion to advance their political ambitions.

The prophecy in Isaiah speaks about the Messiah, who I believe is Yeshua. Religion is so complicated because of all the sects and their different belief systems. In Judaism, they believe their God is the creator God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and that the Christians serve a different God. Christians think they serve the same God as those in Judaism and often do not realize that they do not. Muslims serve a God that is not recognized by those in Judaism or Christianity. This means that there are three gods that are involved in the current situation. I wonder what the real God of Abraham thinks about all of this?

Isaiah 24:1–5 (LEB): 24 Look! Yahweh is about to lay the earth waste and is about to devastate it, and he will twist her surface and he will scatter her inhabitants. And it shall be as with the people, so with the priest; as with the slave, so with his master; as with the female slave, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the one to whom he lends. The earth shall be utterly laid waste, and it shall be utterly plundered, for Yahweh has spoken this word. The earth dries up, it withers; the world languishes, it withers. The elevated of the people of the earth languish, and the earth is defiled beneath its inhabitants. For they have transgressed laws; they have passed by statutes; they have broken the everlasting covenant.

Many Christians support the current political state of Israel because they think that every move Israel makes is ordained by their God, yet the Prime Minister of Israel is a secular leader that is not at all religious. If one wants to understand current events, they must research Zionism, Zionism compared to Judaism, and the dispensationalism theology of evangelical Christianity. Anyone in any of these camps will view events through their own lenses, but all of these ideologies are often blended, creating nothing but confusion.

When the current state of Israel was formed in 1947, it was likened to the “dry bones” prophecy in Ezekiel. Is it possible that a country formed by the United Nations after World War II fulfilled this prophecy found in the book of Ezekiel?

Ezekiel 37:12–17 (LEB): 12 Therefore prophesy, and you must say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Look! I am opening your graves, and I will bring you up from your graves, my people, and I will bring you to the land of Israel! 13 And you will know that I am Yahweh when I open your graves when I bring you up from your graves, my people! 14 And I will put my breath into you so that you may live, and I will cause you to rest on your soil, and you will know that I, Yahweh, I have spoken, and I will act!” ’ declares Yahweh.” 15 And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 16 “And you, son of man, take for yourself a piece of wood, and write on it, ‘For Judah and for the Israelites his associates,’ and take another piece of wood, and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the piece of wood of Ephraim and all of the house of Israel his associates.’ 17 And join them one to the other with respect to you as one piece of wood, so that they may become one in your hand.

This is speaking of a physical resurrection where God is going to raise his people from the dead. This is not something the United Nations did. God is going to reunite the two kingdoms, the house of Israel and the house of Judah. We have not witnessed this yet. Twelve tribes were part of the united kingdom of Israel. Where are they now?

Ezekiel 37:21–24 (LEB): 21 And speak to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Look! I am taking the Israelites from among the nations to which they went, and I will gather them from everywhere, and I will bring them to their own soil. 22 And I will make them into one nation in the land on the mountains of Israel, and they will all have one king as their king, and they will not again be two nations and will not again divide into two kingdoms again. 23 And they will not defile themselves again with their idols and with vile idols and with all of their transgressions, and I will save them from all of their apostasy by which they sinned, and I will cleanse them and they will be for me as a people and I, I will be for them as God. 24 And my servant David will be king over them, and one shepherd will be for all of them, and in my regulations they will go, and my statutes they will observe, and they will do them.

These prophecies have not happened yet, and they will not be completed with political wars, massacres or acts decreed by the United Nations. The Creator of the universe is going to come out of His place and make this happen.

Isaiah 26:18–21 (LEB): 18 We became pregnant, we writhed; we gave birth to wind. We cannot bring about deliverance on the earth, and no inhabitants of the world are born. 19 Your dead shall live; their corpses shall rise. Wake up and sing for joy, dwellers of the dust, for your dew is celestial dew, and the earth will give birth to dead spirits. 20 Go, my people, enter into your chambers and shut your doors behind you; hide for a very little while, until the wrath has passed over. 21 For look! Yahweh is about to come out from his place to punish the iniquity of the inhabitants of the earth against him, and the earth will disclose her blood and will no longer cover her slain.

These verses from Isaiah have more language concerning the resurrection. The Creator is going to punish the iniquity of the earth and set up a kingdom where the “servant David” will rule. This kingdom will be one of peace, not constant war. This is how we know it has not happened yet. There is no one living safely in the land. The prophecies are completely different than what is happening today. God is going to change the world into something different that has nothing to do with politics. It will finally be a just and peaceful place.

Ezekiel 37:26–28 (LEB): 26 And I will make with them a covenant of peace; an everlasting covenant it will be with them. And I will establish them, and I will cause them to increase, and I will put my sanctuary in the midst of them forever. 27 And my tabernacle will be with them, and I will be for them as God, and they will be to me as a nation. 28 And the nations will know that I, Yahweh, am consecrating Israel when my sanctuary is in the midst of them forever.” ’ ”

This will be the Millennial kingdom. God is showing Ezekiel chronological events. Everyone will be living in peace in this kingdom and then Gog and Magog will come against the kingdom. We have not seen the peaceful kingdom, so we cannot be witnessing the Gog and Magog war.

Ezekiel 38:7–9 (LEB): Be ready, and prepare yourselves, you and all of your assembly, the assembling around you, and you must be for them as a guard. After many days you will be mustered; in the last years you will come to a restored land from the sword, gathered from many peoples on the mountains of Israel which were as permanent ruins but from peoples it was brought out, and they will dwell in safety, all of them. And you will advance like a storm; you will come, and you will be like a cloud covering the land, and all of your troops and many nations along with you.”

Here we see the restored lands “from ruins” where people are dwelling safely. I am guessing that we have not yet seen the complete “ruins” as of yet, and this is what we are witnessing, the ruining of the land where no one will be able to dwell in it. Nuclear disaster is the only thing that I know that will truly ruin a land and cause no one to be able to dwell there. There are many verses in the prophets to support a restored earthly kingdom with the Messiah, son of David, ruling.

There is a summary in the book of Revelation concerning the Gog and Magog war. It is clearly after the one thousand year reign of the Messiah on earth. This is the “camp of the saints and beloved city”.

Revelation 20:7–9 (LEB): And when the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison and he will go out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to assemble them for battle, whose number is like the sand of the sea. And they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the fortified camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and consumed them.

Twentieth century Christianity created a narrative of prophecy that is very confusing, and I believe it is being used to garner support for the political ambitions of world leaders. Unfortunately, not very many people take the time to examine their belief system and where it originated. People tend to rely on emotions and what they think they know or have been told. Yeshua told us to “watch” and to “be not deceived”.

The False Light

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.  And no wonder, for Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not a great thing if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.

2 Corinthians 11:13–15 (LEB)

The statement by Paul in his second letter to the Corinthians, “And no wonder, for Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light” is proved to be a true statement, especially when we consider the festivals and sabbats around “the light”. We need not look any further than the October 31st and November 1st festival of Samhain, coming up at the end of the month. The following is from http://www.pagangrimoire.com, and it explains the sabbats of witchcraft. Historically, these days are associated with sun god worship, and have been celebrated since antiquity.

The Christian religion, consisting of thousands of sects, has adopted most of these days one way or another. Isn’t it suspicious that the major Christian and secular holy days fall on these sun god sabbats? This time of year churches will host “trunk or treat” nights on the Samhain sabbat eve and relate it to “shining the light”. This happens all over North America, and trunk or treats seem to have replaced the traditional “harvest parties”, churches would host in order to celebrate Halloween in the past. The following is from pagangrimoire.com:

“Samhain, or best known as Halloween, is Celtic New Year’s Eve and the final harvest. It’s when the veil between the world of the living and the dead is the thinnest and when pagans believe spirits easiest roam the earth and when it is easiest to communicate with them. Samhain is a time to honor all those who have come before, for all that was gifted to us during the year, to ask for guidance, and to set intentions as the turning of the wheel begins again.

Wiccans believe this is when the god dies and when the Goddess both reaches her highest power as the Crone and is pregnant with the god that will be born at Yule. And hence, the cycle begins again. It is, because the divide between the world’s is at is thinnest, also one of the most powerful nights to do magic.” pagangrimoire.com

These traditions follow the ancient birth myth celebrated in honour of “Jesus” at Yule, which was renamed by Christians to “Christmas”. “When the Goddess both reaches her highest power as the Crone and is pregnant with the god that will be born at Yule. ” Different cultures throughout history celebrated these days, and just like Christianity, they had different names for the days they celebrated. None of the eight sabbats are celebrating the Creator God, Yahuah, who is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the Bible.

1 Corinthians 10:18–22 (LEB): 18 Consider Israel according to the flesh: are not the ones who eat the sacrifices sharers in the altar? 19 Therefore, what am I saying? That food sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 No, but that the things which they sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to become sharers with demons. 21 You are not able to drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You are not able to share the table of the Lord and the table of demons. 22 Or are we attempting to provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than he is, are we?

Churches will claim that somehow, because of Jesus, we can now own these days from sun god worship and witchcraft and turn them into days to honour the true God. However, the true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob said to absolutely not do this very thing.

Deuteronomy 12:29–32 (LEB): 29 “When Yahweh your God has cut off the nations whom you are about to go to, to dispossess them before you, and you have dispossessed them, and you live in their land, 30 take care so that you are not ensnared into imitating them after their being destroyed from before you, and so that you not enquire concerning their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods, and thus I myself want to do also.’ 31 You must not do so toward Yahweh your God, because of every detestable thing they have done for their gods Yahweh hates, for even their sons and their daughters they would burn in the fire to their gods. 32 All of the things that I am commanding you, you must diligently observe; you shall not add to it, and you shall not take away from it.”

The Church thinks it is above these instructions that God gave His chosen people, even though He punished these people for doing exactly what the church is doing with these ancient sabbats. This is pure deception from the false light. These types of festivals are what Balaak used to ensare Israel by the advice of Balaam.

Numbers 25:1–5 (LEB): 25 When Israel dwelled in Shittim, the people began to prostitute themselves with the daughters of Moab. And they invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and worshiped their gods. So Israel was joined together to Baal Peor, and Yahweh became angry with Israel. Yahweh said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and hang them before Yahweh in the sun, so the fierce anger of Yahweh will turn from Israel.” So Moses said to the judges of Israel, “Each of you kill his men who are joined together with Baal Peor.”

Micah 6:5 (LEB): O my people, remember what Balak the king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him, and what happened from Shittim to Gilgal, so that you might know the righteous acts of Yahweh.”

This is not an obsolete story from the Old Testament. It is an example how God will judge His people for celebrating the sun god holiday wheel of witchcraft. We are reminded of this event by Yeshua in the revelation of John.

Revelation 2:14–16 (LEB): 14 But I have a few things against you: that you have there those who hold fast to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat food sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality. 15 So likewise you also have those who hold fast to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. 16 Therefore repent! But if you do not, I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war with them with the sword from my mouth.

When he says “commit sexual immorality” it is a reference to other gods. Using these sabbats for “Jesus” is equivalent to sacrificing food to idols and sexual immorality with the false god of light, which all of these holy days honour. Yeshua, called Jesus in Greek, said this to the church: “Therefore repent! But if you do not, I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war with them with the sword from my mouth.” At this point people will scream, “rightly divide”, so they can continue celebrating the false holy days. “Rightly divide” is a term misused by dispensationlists quoting second Timothy 2:15. Please see my blog post, Dividing God’s Word is Risky Business for more on this subject.

Hosea 5:1–7 (LEB): 5 Hear this, O priests! Give heed, O house of Israel! Listen, O house of the king! Because the judgment applies to you; because you have been a snare for Mizpah, and a net spread out on Tabor; they dug a deep pit in Shittim, but I am a punishment for all of them. I myself know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me; because now you have played the whore, O Ephraim—Israel is defiled. Their deeds do not permit them to return them to God. Because a spirit of whoredom is in their midst, they do not know Yahweh. The pride of Israel testifies against him, and Israel and Ephraim stumble in their guilt, and Judah stumbles with them. With their flocks and herds they will go to seek Yahweh, but they will not find him; he has withdrawn from them. They have dealt faithlessly with Yahweh because they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon will devour them with their fields.

Harvest parties and trunk or treats are more Protestant ways to celebrate the ancient deities . The Catholic Church made it a day to honour the dead saints and martyrs. The following is from Britannica.com:

The first evidence for the November 1 date of celebration and of the broadening of the festival to include all saints as well as all martyrs occurred during the reign of Pope Gregory III (731–741), who dedicated a chapel in St. Peter’s, Rome, on November 1 in honour of all saints. In 800 All Saints’ Day was kept by Alcuin on November 1, and it also appeared in a 9th-century English calendar on that day. In 837 Pope Gregory IV ordered its general observance. In medieval England the festival was known as All Hallows, and its eve is still known as Halloween. The period from October 31 to November 2 (All Souls’ Day) is sometimes known as Allhallowtide.

The Father gave us His special holy days through Israel. They have nothing to do with the false light holidays that the world celebrates. We are currently at the end of Sukkot, or the feast of booths, which is a week long festival celebrating the fall harvest and the time that the Israelites lived in tents in the wilderness. It is a remembrance of how God delivered His people from slavery and it points to a time when this will happen again.

Jeremiah 23:7–8 (LEB): “Therefore look, days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when they will no longer say, ‘As Yahweh lives who led up the Israelites from the land of Egypt,’ but ‘As Yahweh lives, who led up, and who brought the offspring of the house of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where he had driven them.’ Then they will live in their land.”

I believe this is the same gathering Yeshua is speaking about in Matthew 24:31:  And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect together from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other end of it.

We can celebrate these days in honour of the true light, even though there is no longer a temple, we are scattered in the dispersion, and our offerings are with our lips, not literal grain and animal offerings.

Hebrews 13:12–16 (LEB): 12 Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, in order that he might sanctify the people by his own blood. 13 So we must go out to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach. 14 For here we do not have a permanent city, but we seek the city that is to come. 15 Therefore through him let us offer up a sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name. 16 And do not neglect doing good and generosity, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

We are going to be celebrating these feasts in the future city in the kingdom of God, so why not practice now? There will be no one celebrating Halloween or Christmas in God’s city of the future.

Zechariah 14:16–18 (LEB): 16 And then every survivor from all those nations coming against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the king, Yahweh of hosts, and celebrate the Feast of Booths. 17 And then whoever of the clans of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the king, Yahweh of hosts, it will not rain on them. 18 And if the clan of Egypt will not go up and come in, on them will be that plague Yahweh inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.

Are you serving the Creator God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, or the false light antichrist? By honouring the days that have been dedicated to witchcraft we show the god of our choice. As Yeshua told the women accused of adultery, “Go and sin no more”.

Honour Your Father and Mother

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise),  “in order that it may be well with you, and you may live a long time on the earth.” And fathers, do not make your children angry, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Ephesians 6:1–4 (LEB)

The Apostle Paul reinforced the commandment from the Torah to “honour your father and mother”. Why would Paul suggest this commandment was important if he truly preached a different gospel than the other apostles, as some popular sects of Christianity claim? The importance of the commandments is emphasized by Paul just as much as it was by the other apostles and the Messiah Yeshua, called “Jesus” in Greek.

Romans 7:11–12 (LEB): 11 For sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me. 12 So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

Sin is identified by knowing God’s commandments. It is the only benchmark of behavior, so when we are opposed to the commandments, we are really opposing God. No one will ever succeed opposing the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, even if an ear tickling preacher is claiming it is right to do so.

Yeshua used the commandment “to honour your father and mother” as an example to explain to the Pharisees about how important it was to not place man-made traditions and rules ahead of the commandments of God.

Mark 7:8–13 (LEB): Abandoning the commandment of God, you hold fast to the tradition of men.” And he said to them, “You splendidly ignore the commandment of God so that you can keep your tradition. 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘The one who speaks evil of father or mother must certainly die.’ 11 But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or to his mother, “Whatever benefit you would have received from me is corban” (that is, a gift to God), 12 you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or his mother, 13 thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down, and you do many similar things such as this.”

There are people today that do not want children to honour their father and mother. They want to break up the family unit because it is a way to gain control of society. Once children start listening to state agents over their parents and grandparents, then society can be socially engineered to believe any propaganda that the state wants to promote. This philosophy is nothing new. Karl Marx proposed this idea in the Communist Manifesto.

“Abolition of the family! Even the most radical flare up at this
infamous proposal of the Communists.
On what foundation is the present family, the bourgeois family,
based? On capital, on private gain. In its completely developed
form this family exists only among the bourgeoisie. But this
state of things finds its complement in the practical absence of
the family among the proletarians, and in public prostitution.
The bourgeois family will vanish as a matter of course when its
complement vanishes, and both will vanish with the vanishing of
capital.
Do you charge us with wanting to stop the exploitation of
children by their parents? To this crime we plead guilty.
But, you will say, we destroy the most hallowed of relations,
when we replace home education by social.”

“The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims.
They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by
the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions.
Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution.
The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains.
They have a world to win.”

I don’t believe Karl Marx envisioned communism to look like the societies that Lennon and Stalin created where the government murdered sixty million people. Some of the socialist forms of government we have today are not working either. Brazil is a good example of this and they are turning away from socialism due to its disastrous results. North America has had people pushing it towards communism for decades and it is going to be a painful cycle. The road back to a free society from communism is long, deadly, and hard. The efforts of overthrowing the “bourgeois” and replacing the old ruling class historically results in food shortages, poor living conditions for everyone, and totalitarian governments living off of the backs of the people they oppress. This is likely the opposite of what Karl Marx was dreaming.

In Plato’s Republic, the idea of a perfect state is also discussed. Creating a virtuous ruling class, or “guardians” was the theme of this type of state. The family is also attacked in this system.

“The law, I said, which is the sequel of this and of all that has preceded, is to the following effect,—’that the wives of our guardians are to be common, and their children are to be common, and no parent is to know his own child, nor any child his parent.’”

The reason these systems do not work is simple to understand if one believes that there is a Creator that has already given us the instructions we need to live in harmony with each other and nature, providing enough resources for everyone. However, much like communism, religion has not succeeded either. Religion often brings man-made rules, greed and people being convinced that they need not worry about the Creator’s instructions because they are old and out dated. When religion was in complete control, the period was called the dark ages for good reasons.

Matthew 19:3–6 (LEB): And Pharisees came up to him in order to test him, and asked if it was permitted for a man to divorce his wife for any cause. And he answered and said, “Have you not read that the one who created them from the beginning made them male and female and said, ‘On account of this a man will leave his father and his mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, man must not separate.”

The family unit is very important in a functioning society. It only works when the Creator is honoured by doing what he said, and he said to honour your father and mother. There were no exceptions for fathers and mothers who did a terrible job raising their family, or wayward parents that ended up in jail for heinous acts. How one honours these types of parents may look differently then how one honours loving fathers and mothers that unselfishly raised their children.

Behind the people thinking that these antichrist societal changes will make living better for everyone, are entities that want to enslave and rule over people. I say “entities” because they are both human and super-natural. These are the forces deceiving people that the way we were created is some how wrong, and that the instructions of the Creator are to be destroyed.

Ephesians 6:11–13 (LEB): 11 Put on the full armour of God, so that you may be able to stand against the stratagems of the devil, 12 because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Because of this, take up the full armour of God, in order that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.

It becomes easier once we understand the attack on the family unit and children today is an age old struggle with dark forces that are simply using different means to achieve the same goals. Alice Bailey gave us insight into the new age plan in her book Stages in the Externalisation , written in the early twentieth century. Alice Bailey states, “The three main channels through which the preparation for the new age is going on might be regarded as the Church, the Masonic Fraternity and the educational field. All of them are as yet in relatively static condition, and all are as yet failing to meet the need and to respond to the inner pressure. But in all of these three movements, disciples of the Great Ones are to be found and they are steadily gathering momentum and will before long enter upon their designated task.”.

The “Great Ones”, whom Alice Bailey references, are the same entities Paul refers to as principalities and rulers. The Church has been a great tool for these “Great Ones” because they have convinced themselves that God’s laws no longer apply and have adopted all the “Great Ones'” holidays and traditions. We will be seeing this in full force soon with “trunk or treat” gatherings at churches supposedly shining the light of God. However, it is the light of the wrong god. The “Great Ones” gain their power by the Church ignoring the commandments of God.

2 Timothy 4:3–5 (LEB): For there will be a time when they will not put up with sound teaching, but in accordance with their own desires, they will accumulate for themselves teachers, because they have an insatiable curiosity, and they will turn away from the hearing of the truth, but will turn to myths. But you, be self-controlled in all things, bear hardship patiently, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

The only “truth” is the word of God and these entities will use whatever groups of people who will do their bidding. Unfortunately, it is often the Church that embraces the wrong god in the name of “Jesus”. We see the end result of all of this in the book of Daniel. The current social order, consisting of an amalgamation of all the historical, worldly empires, (and who knows what else) will be destroyed, and the kingdom of God will be in power on the earth.

Daniel 2:43–45 (LEB): 43 And in that you saw the iron was mixed with wet clay, so they will mix in marriage and they will not cling to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. 44 And in the day of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, and the kingdom will not be left for another nation, and it will bring an end to all these kingdoms, but it will stand forever. 45 Inasmuch as you saw that a stone from the mountain was chiseled out but not by hands, and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold, thereby the great God made known to the king what will be in the future, and the dream is certain and its explanation trustworthy.”

Honour your father and mother and value your family. Ignore the cries from the people trying to destroy the family, remembering that they have been with us for thousands of years in various forms. Study the instructions that the Father in heaven gave us and live in them.

Psalm 119:163–166 (LEB)

There are many people today in the thousands of sects found in Christianity that deride the instructions of the Creator God of the universe. This Creator God gave us His name, YHWH, and sent us His son to teach us His ways properly, and redeem us from slavery and death. In Christianity, God’s instructions are viewed as “old Jewish law”, “done away with”, and “nailed to the cross”. There are too many variations of opinion in the different sects to mention here, but it is safe to generalize that they would mostly agree that His laws are impossible to keep, burdensome and that we should not even try. I completely disagree with this theology.

One of the problems comes from translating the Hebrew word “Torah” to the English word law. This translation does not provide a clear meaning of the word “Torah”, although this could be a definition of the word “Torah”.

This pie chart shows all the ways “Torah” is translated to English in scripture. The root of the word “Torah” has to do with shooting an arrow. We shoot the arrow towards the mark and try to aim true. With Bible software such as Logos, one can look at all the Bible verses where in Hebrew the word “Torah” is used, but in English, words such as instruction, law, and teaching are used. If one knows what “Torah” means, then understanding these passages becomes easier to the reader.

What does God’s laws and instructions have to do with freedom? Unfortunately, in modern times laws often take away freedoms. These are man-made rules, not the Torah of God. If we just look at the ten commandments we can easily see freedom in God’s instructions.

Deuteronomy 5:6–21 (LEB): ‘I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery. There shall not be for you other gods besides me. ‘You shall not make for yourself a divine image of any type of form that is in the heaven above or that is on the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth. ‘You shall not bow down to them, and you shall not serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, punishing the guilt of fathers upon their children and upon the third and upon the fourth generation of those hating me, 10 but showing loyal love to thousands of those who love me and of those who keep my commandments. 11 ‘You shall not take up the name of Yahweh your God for a worthless purpose, for Yahweh will not leave unpunished anyone who uses his name for a worthless purpose. 12 ‘Observe the Sabbath day to make it holy, just as Yahweh your God has commanded you. 13 Six days you shall work, and you shall do all of your work, 14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath unto Yahweh your God; you shall not do any work, or your son, or your daughter, or your slave, or your slave woman, or your ox, or your donkey, or any of your domestic animals, or your resident alien who is in your towns, so that your slave and your slave woman may rest as you rest. 15 And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Yahweh your God brought you out with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm; therefore, Yahweh your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath. 16 ‘Honor your father and your mother, as Yahweh your God commanded you, so that it will be good for you in the land that Yahweh your God is giving to you. 17 ‘You shall not murder. 18 ‘And you shall not commit adultery. 19 ‘And you shall not steal. 20 ‘And you shall not falsely bear evidence against your neighbor. 21 ‘And you shall not covet the wife of your neighbor, and you shall not crave the house of your neighbor, his field or his slave or his slave woman or his ox and his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.’

Any other God besides the Father is a false god, and we can easily become enslaved by these false gods whether they are imaginary, demons or the dark rulers and principalities spoken about by Paul. There is no freedom when one is involved with these false gods. False gods in religion, including Christianity, abound, and use religion to enslave innocent people who are searching for the Creator.

I was raised in the Christian church where one would hear a sermon a couple times a year about making false gods out of sports, jobs or celebrities. Although there is some truth in this, the real false gods are man-made religious rules that make the commandments of God void. Mark 7:8 (LEB) “Abandoning the commandment of God, you hold fast to the tradition of men.” Many of these traditions that replace God’s commandments come from actual false gods. For example, Easter replaced Passover, the sun gods Zeus, Mithra or Woden have been brought into the church in place of YHWH with all their traditions and symbols at Christmas time. Christianity even honors the day of the sun over the Sabbath. I don’t care what reason is used, it is replacing the commandment of God with man’s tradition, employing gods of others. It is all deception, unfortunately.

1 Corinthians 10:19–22 (LEB): 19 Therefore, what am I saying? That food sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 No, but that the things which they sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to become sharers with demons. 21 You are not able to drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You are not able to share the table of the Lord and the table of demons. 22 Or are we attempting to provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than he is, are we?*

If we look at a scenario where one covets the belongings of someone else, it is easy to see the path of coveting leading to stealing, which then leads to murder in many cases. This robs people of the freedom of having personal property. It also robs everyone of a peaceful life, needing to be worried about locking up their possessions and finding they have been stolen anyway. We can even look at how groups of people form coalitions can collectively rob people of their personal belongings, supposedly for the betterment of society. We see this in many forms of government in the way of unreasonable taxes and the picking of winners and losers by government. Socialists, communists and other totalitarian forms of government are guilty of this and it is why they oppose God so vehemently. There will be a price to pay for people in power that steal from the masses.

Revelation 6:14–17 (LEB): 14 And the sky was split apart like a scroll that is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved from their place. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the most important people, and the military leaders, and the rich, and the powerful, and every slave and free person hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, 16 And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

The advantages of the commandment to not commit adultery or break wedlock should be self evident. There is no freedom having multiple marriages ending in divorce, or several illegitimate families. Often this creates hardships in lives that can never be over come. One becomes a prisoner of a lifestyle with endless child support, conflict and turmoil.

Matthew 19:3–9 (LEB): And Pharisees came up to him in order to test him, and asked if it was permitted for a man to divorce his wife for any cause. And he answered and said, “Have you not read that the one who created them from the beginning made them male and female and said, ‘On account of this a man will leave his father and his mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, man must not separate.” They said to him, “Why then did Moses command us to give a document—a certificate of divorce—and to divorce her?” He said to them, “Moses, with reference to your hardness of heart, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not like this. Now I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except on the basis of sexual immorality, and marries another commits adultery, and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”

Yeshua doubles down on the commandments here by saying even what was permitted in the “law of Moses” was not as strict as originally intended by God.

Paul reaffirms the commandment to honor our father and mother. By giving us the commandment to honor our mother and father, the heavenly Father shows that we have the right to have a mother and father. It is easy to see today what happens when we do not honor our mothers and fathers. We descend into total chaos. Children should be taught by their grandparents and parents, not indoctrinated by government run institutions that try to break the family nucleus. Both Plato and Marx have the state raising children in their philosophies, which comes from being against a higher entity having moral authority over society. Just as governments steal land, wages and other freedoms, it is no accident that the state is now attacking the commandment to honor our mothers and fathers, imposing twisted ideology on our children.

Ephesians 6:1–4 (LEB): 6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise), “in order that it may be well with you, and you may live a long time on the earth.” And fathers, do not make your children angry, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

The Sabbath is another mark of a free man. Who gives their people a day to rest other than the Father and Creator God of Israel? The ones who wish to enslave us will change the Sabbath, say it is a burden to keep, or give many chores to do on the Sabbath when the Father said to rest and not make your family or employees work. Jesus reaffirms the importance of the Sabbath to the Pharisees who continually added burdens to the instructions of God.

Matthew 12:11–12 (LEB): 11 But he said to them, “What man will there be among you who will have one sheep and if this one fell into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 Then to what degree is a man worth more than a sheep? So then, it is permitted to do good on the Sabbath.”

Matthew 12:7–8 (LEB): And if you had known what it means, ‘I want mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”

These “laws” are not intended to be burdensome or too hard. They are instructions about how to live a successful life on earth in harmony with other humans, nature and the Creator. The people who claim these instructions of God, reinforced by Yeshua, are not important, need to look around the world and see the results of disobedience to God’s words.

Deuteronomy 30:11–16 (LEB): 11 “For this commandment that I am commanding you today is not too wonderful for you, and it is not too far from you. 12 It is not in the heavens so that you might say, ‘Who will go up for us to the heavens and get it for us and cause us to hear it, so that we may do it?’ 13 And it is not beyond the sea, so that you might say, ‘Who will cross for us to the other side of the sea and take it for us and cause us to hear it, so that we may do it?’ 14 But the word is very near you, even in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may do it. 15 “See, I am setting before you today life and prosperity and death and disaster; 16 what I am commanding you today is to love Yahweh your God by going in his ways and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his regulations, and then you will live, and you will become numerous, and Yahweh your God will bless you in the land where you are going.

We could list all of the instructions of God and point out all the freedoms we have when we follow God’s laws. Anyone who teaches against the instructions of God, as good intentions as they may have, is working against God. There are many teaching against God’s laws who are used by the enemy to lead people astray. The Sabbath is a great example of this. Keeping the Sabbath was declared the mark of a person belonging to the Creator. It comes with many blessings, so what better way to rob people of this status and these blessings than to change it, say it is no longer important, or add many rules to keeping it?

Isaiah 56:6–7 (LEB): And the foreigners who join themselves to Yahweh to serve him and to love the name of Yahweh, to become his servants, every one who keeps the Sabbath, so as not to profane it, and those who keep hold of my covenant, I will bring them to my holy mountain; I will make them merry in my house of prayer. their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar, for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples,”

One can listen to the entities trying to enslave them by believing that God’s instructions are no longer important, impossible to keep, or even a sin to try to keep according to some sects of Christianity. I suggest studying these matters and not listening to those teaching contrary to the God of Abraham and his son Yeshua. It is true that “Great peace is for those who love your law, and they do not have a cause for stumbling”.
